antisborrat Posted November 10, 2015 Hi there, I just wanted to show everyone my new MOC and my new website to accompany it. It is a IKEA TV unit that I have made into a Star Wars hangar bay. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!! And please share http://www.starwarshangarbay.co.uk
MKJoshA Posted November 10, 2015 That's a great looking base! I'd love to see some more detailed pictures of it here...
antisborrat Posted November 10, 2015 I have exceeded my maximum amount somehow? Sorry I'm new to this site. I have lots of images of this base and it's amazing how it fits into the TV unit :-)
Tariq j Posted November 10, 2015 Very nice work! Your pictures simply add to the quality of the MOC.
Graham Gidman Posted November 10, 2015 I'd suggest getting a Flickr account and hosting your images there. Looks like quite the build, love to see more photos of it.
antisborrat Posted November 10, 2015 I have more images on my computer but the graphics card has just blown! I have some good ones in-situ. My website has the full story though and a nice video of the build. Thanks for your feedback though!
winbrant Posted November 10, 2015 Loving the close up shots and all. Would it be possible to get a picture or two of the IKEA with the hanger bay in place? Just to get an idea of size and look (and lighting). Thanks :)
Hold0511 Posted November 10, 2015 Excellent MOC and the website story behind the build is cool.
LegoPercyJ Posted November 11, 2015 Looks spectacular!
kibosh Posted November 12, 2015 Your photography is beautiful. As are your MOCs.
Bob De Quatre Posted November 12, 2015 Great pictures, but I must admit that what I really want to see is the actual Ikea TV unit after transformation I have exceeded my maximum amount somehow? Sorry I'm new to this site. I have lots of images of this base and it's amazing how it fits into the TV unit :-) Eurobricks isn't a hosting site, so attachments are very limited (usually only for avatars). So I can only advise you to host your picture elsewhere and link them in your posts (but it seems like I'm a little late).
antisborrat Posted November 13, 2015 Hi sorry for the delay! I quickly took these last night but will try and take some more during the day tomorrow. Hopefully you can see how nice it fits. I will try and get some detailed ones tomorrow, the blast doors look very nice
YellowCorvette Posted November 13, 2015 Nice MOC! But now I wonder why a Jedi Interceptor will appear in a Rebellion hangar bay.....
antisborrat Posted November 13, 2015 Because the x-wing, y-wing and the b-wing wouldn't fit. And nobody wants a A-wing
Only Sinner Posted November 13, 2015 Maybe the ETA-2 is a repurposed Clone Wars relic. People still fly first generation fighter planes so, why not? The thing I like most about this cabinet is you can have a LSW display in the room whwer the TV is, but it dosn't detract from the contemporary decor unnecessarily. I think it looks great, thanks for sharing. And I like the Rebel A-Wing quite a lot for some reason.
TheLegoDr Posted November 14, 2015 ^ I agree. I'd take an A wing over a B wing..but that's just me. This set-up is pretty neat. My only issue is like any display item, you can't see it until you pull it out. Limits the viewing pleasure.
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted November 15, 2015 And nobody wants a A-wing LOL! Amazing hangar, with many beautiful details! Great MOC!
Frazeur Posted November 20, 2015 Small amount of room with a lot of great to scale work. Impressive
Brick Capone Posted November 20, 2015 Looks absolutely amazing! Very impressive!
antisborrat Posted November 23, 2015 Thanks everyone for your amazing feedback!
TheBear Posted November 23, 2015 Great concept, build and photography. My only gripe would be that rebel hanger floors should be grey rather than black, which should be reserved for imperial hangers, but maybe you made it black to match your TV :) I don't see what you've got against A-Wings, they can take down Super Star Destroyers single handedly! antisborrat Posted November 23, 2015 I did get some sample grey tiles but they looked naff and didn't have the same kind of 'sheen'. Also when you put grey tiles next to the grey walls it all looks to... well... grey :-D The orange from the pilots shows up well against the black to. Ideally I would have loved to have made the Shuttle Tyderium hanger but the ship wouldn't have fit within the space!
Ewokologist Posted November 29, 2015 This is a really cool MOC. It's a great way to display and store your awesome creation! :)
