Pirates of the Burning Sea: Game

Recommended Posts

Hey, I was on the interne browsing and I came across this game: Pirates of the Burning Sea . It looks cool as you can direct your ships and the graphics are good, why not give it a look out?

The true potential of this is that we could organize an EuroBricks group once the game comes out. Apparently it is online! So we could fight eachother as Spanish, British, French, and Pirate sects. I would love to see a gathering into this game.

I'm definately Pre-Ordering this game, as it looks awsome, as well as you get extras X-D ! It comes out January 22, 2008.

What do you think?

Interview & Additional Info

Trailer

I'm personally excited about this game!

Where have I heard of Pirates of the Burning Sea before? I thought it had been released years ago?

Had it been released previously, or was it canned for a fear years and now we're finally seeing it?

There was a similar game called "Pirates". Released some time ago.

Apparently, this has been popping out in trailers and such, but not released.

Obviously there's a significant difference in title between "Pirates" and "Pirates of the Burning Sea" - I'm sure I'd be aware of the difference.

By "Pirates" I assume you refer to "Sid Meier's Pirates!"

Whatever happens in "Sid Miere's Pirates!" game is what I mean.

They're both essentially the same, ships on the water duking it out on each other. But this game looks better.

I'm assuming it does.

Basically because this is a newer game, with more graphics.

Okay, don't listen to what I say X-D .

I said don't listen to what I say.

The graphics actually seem similar, but I prefer the water in the new game.

Excellent work old chap!

Pirates of the Burning Sea does look more detailed than Sid Meier's Pirates, however the latter does have the option to increase the level of detail and I don't think the screen shot above is taken at the highest level of detail.

After watching the trailer I'd say the animation is a lot more detailed than Sid Meier's Pirates! because there's a lot more angles and interesting shots... But... That begs the question to whether these angles and shots are part of the gameplay or whether they're prepared just for the trailer.

I can bet you that you can move around like that. I'd be 100% certain. There's also videos of gameplay and I see paning and screen flying in there!

I've been listening to a podcast and this feature sounds awsome:

Pirates can take over other people's ships

You wont "lose" your ship if you're sunk

Wow, I just heard something really funny in that podcast:

"...as well as 3 different pirate ships that are here I believe, I think we have both a Lego pirate ship and a playmobile pirate ship, so we can finally settle that question, you know, 'Who's stronger?! Lego or Playmobile?'..."

And this is in their office.

:-D

I already have a game like this. It's a great game, but it really sucks you can't play it online.

The graphics and effects of this game also look alot better.

The only thing I need to know is: Are the ships historically accurate?

I'm pretty sure they are. They spent 6 years on this game, so I imagine they'd have the time to make he ships accurate.

Did you know you could build your own ships?
