Recommended Posts

Eurobricks Staff, with the sponsoring of EB member and customiser

MinifigureHQ, is proud to announce the very special Alien Investigators Raffle Building Challenge!

AIR_001.png

We challenge our members to create a small scene about your custom Alien Investigator/s dealing with mysterious and super secret stuff from Outer Space.

Would it be a G-man investigating a crash landing in the desert? Or a Hazmat team handling the Moon Phantoms in the old library?

Read the rules & post your entry in this thread!

The rules are:

  • You need to be a member of Eurobricks who joined before the 10th of October 2015.
  • This is a fun thing, so have FUN!
  • The MOC needs to have at least two (2) original LEGO pieces in it, NO clone ones.
  • Self-made custom decals can be used, but no third-party items this time.
  • The MOC needs to be new - no recycling here please - just fresh stuff.
  • The entry must be posted in this thread before 8 pm GMT, by the 24th of October, 2015.
  • Your entry must include one image (and only one image) and be no larger than 800x600.

Looks fun, though I have a few questions.

1) Any size restrictions?

2) By "Custom alien investigator" does that mean just any figure you created yourself? Can it be purist?

3) By no "third-party decals" does that mean I can't use a special printed tile I purchased at BrickCon? It's a white 2x2 tile printed with Danger - High Voltage.

1) Any size restrictions?

No size restrictions, as this is a raffle and the size/complexity of the build will not influence the random choice of the winner.

In general, an 8x8 or 16x16 vignette seems more fitting than a diorama, for this kind of event. But it's up to entrants' choice, really.

2) By "Custom alien investigator" does that mean just any figure you created yourself? Can it be purist?

Yes, any figure created by using original LEGO elements and, possibly, self-made decals is fair game.

3) By no "third-party decals" does that mean I can't use a special printed tile I purchased at BrickCon? It's a white 2x2 tile printed with Danger - High Voltage.

No third party items means you cannot use anything produced, sold or shared by others, be it a decal, accessory or specialised part or print.

No digital entries, please.

Again, this is a fun raffle, you do not need to make an art-piece out of it.

Be creative with the bricks you have!

I haven't got very many parts with me at the moment (I'm on the road), but I do have a couple of alien parts and the MBA minifigs. So I'll start off with something simple.

Agent 3 never seemed to be around during alien sightings.

"Houston, we have a problem ... ...not a word to anyone ... ...over and out!"

So long,

The vehicle certainly looked alien, and witnesses swore they'd seen a hideous creature fleeing the area after the crash.

All nonsense, of course.

There are no such things as aliens.

The inspector pulled reflexively on his ceremonial red Inspecting Gloves as the Sniffer did its work.

Certainly, there was a rational explanation for all of this...

Agent Sharon Blackwell was told that the creature had been sighted somewhere around here in the Navajo Desert, but the Razar detector still wasn't picking up any life readings...

Batman could tell that a strong alien had recently landed on the outskirts of Gotham and couldn't be to far away.
