ER0L Posted November 23, 2015 Great stuff! I really like your different solutions to mimic certain shapes and textures. I especially love the Bauhaus builds and the building by Le Corbusier. Btw. the Dessau masters house you've chosen is a reconstruction (two of the seven houses were destroyed in WW II) - the new build just mimics the shape but has no details of the original building. Wrapping up my Bauhaus week with three small creations: Bauhaus school building in Dessau by Gropius, Chamberlain Cottage by Gropius, and Farnsworth House by Ludwig van der Rohe. The Bachman-Wilson House by Frank Lloyd Wright. Somehow i lost the length of the building in the photo. Also, I was supposed to take the photo from ground level, that is why I did not bother to build all windows all the way down :) Casa Gilardi by Luis Barragan. It was a lot of fun to play around with lights and shadows. Duplo-brutalism. Happy to use my son's Duplo. From Iran. German balconies. It is funny sometimes, that something that looks like a straightforward simple and quick build gets complicated by a small detail. In this case the thin walls of the balconies. Askan Posted February 3, 2016 (edited) Hi guys, some more small Architecture MOCs. Villa la Roche by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret. This is a double house but I did not have the time nor bricks to finish the whole. That is also why I built the windows with black bricks, as that goes faster than proper ones. Inside Villa la Roche Aircondiotional love. Lego minimalism. Shadow play, a little bit of my favourite theme… It is so much fun, especially if you involve stairs. Canadian Church and my first round Lego window :) This is how it often looks when I take my pictures. Experimenting with green background, because it looks nice in black and white. However I picked black background in the end. Beach kiosk bathing in the full moon light. From my own imagination. Shadow play inspired by Nicholas alan Cope, my favourite photographer. Shadows in court yard, inspired by photo from Raven van Baak. The sun hits the roof of Auroville Townhall, India. Experimenting with some impossible figures inspired by some pros like Reuterswärd, Escher and Penrose as well as other Lego amateur builders I have seen on internet. It is difficult with white very reflecting Lego... First out, Impossible Trellick Tower Next is a Scooby Doo mystery... Askan Posted March 17, 2016 No nothing is photoshopped. I take the pic with my iphone and then I do some processing in the iphone to get a black background from the black paper I use as abckground. Normally I adjust the contrast and shadow a little. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Yes modernism fits perfect for Lego because of the basic shapes. Wonderful! Logistical question: do all of your builds only use one Architecture Studio pack? With the discount at my local store (noted in another thread) I might take the plunge if so... Thanks! I started with one box of the studio set, so my first creations are only from that. Then I have added more and more white bricks. Some to be able to build bigger things (more basic bricks like 2x2, 1x6 etc) and many more tiles and some other pieces. The studio set is however great and the limited amount of bricks really boosts ones creativity and you get away from the demand of building perfect things. So a studio set to begin with then just order some extra stuff on Lego online shop later. Askan Posted September 7, 2016 My Lego version of Gropius House in Lincoln, MA, USA, by Bauhaus founder and architect Walter Gropius. This was Gropius home from it was built 1939 until he died 1969. It grew bigger than planned and I ran out of bricks, therefore it is not fully up to scale and I have removed one part. This was the only way I could figure out how to make thin lamellar sun screen. Gropius House by Anders Löfgren, on Flickr I often build with renders as inspiration as they are more clean than photos (no bushes, tress, cars, curtains, etc) and it is often impossible to find photos where you can see roof details.
