off roading trucks

Recommended Posts

hello everyone, my name is Imanol Berecibar, i am mostly a technic builder and particularly new in Lego Town, but i want to show you some trucks i have made that fit into minifig scale and have working suspension using lego rubber parts, and they are good for make more trucks from the chassis (also it would be good to replace the radiator parts with some plates and put stickers on them):

unimog u423 (compatible for attachments)

unimog_u423.png

unimog u5023

unimog_u5023.png

these two vehicles have fully working live axle suspension, the u423 has attachment points for various implements, like mowers, buckets... , and the u5023 its built more for off roading; more pictures at my brickshelf gallery.

i hope you like them, i will try to make some more vehicles, thanks.

the working suspension is great, 8 wide is a good choice. I just find the cab a bit unspectacular, it could use some interiour or even brick build headlights to blend in better into the town theme. Apart from that, this is really good work! keep it up mate, greets, ron.

A new truck, rosenbauer panther 8x8 airport crash tender:

this model has the same suspension principle, also i tried to do my best in the interior and the most details i could, the upper water cannon can be lifted and extended like the real truck.

Yep, thats it. Looking great! The bendable technic parts for cabin are very creative and not so standard;) good choice! Now maybe a few more shots from the side, back and top and then its perfectly presented. It deserves it! Many greets, ron.

Very nice!

I really loved the axles work of your vehicles.

I previously built a truck on a similar principle,

Mine is kind of military Oshkosh:

A new truck, i made prime mower truck, (mostly) based on the Tractomas:

tractomas.png

it features: towing hitches, one in the front and 2 in the back, 8 wheels (it is 8x8 in real life), a cab and some kind of engine (not very detailed), a heavy duty trailer and also, pendular working suspension on all wheels:

2 new trucks, this time, forestal firetrucks, they are based on the "Bulldog" offroad fire truck (video:

):

Both have the same chassis design with my own designed fully working suspension; the red truck is a "tool transporter", it has an small place for tools and in the rear it has an RC robot for extreme danger situations:

The yellow truck is a tanker truck:

I hope you like them.

Hi again, has been a while since i have made some trucks, and after watching some other creations i have made an alternate scale of the Unimog u400, this version is 7 studs wide, with working suspension and able to hold other attachments, i hope you like it:

EDIT: i almost forget this other one, this one is an Unimog u5000 for forest fire, as well, it is 7-studs wide with working suspension and front attaching point:

The OP provided the LDD files free of charge. Simply download: Lego Digital Designer (also free), download the files Imanol BB provided in their posts, open the file and you can see the entire built model, modify it to your liking and create instructions. You can build it straight from the file.

Hi Mudmog57, here you have some pictures of the prototype model made in real life (sorry for the weird colors):

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6300609

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6300599

Here is the complete folder with all the pictures and all the LDD models:

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=558208

And this is a experiment of GIF to show the movement of the axles:

I hope this information helps you enough, and good luck with the Magirus, let me know when you build it.
