[MOC] first post! Bespin duel

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I've been MOCing scenes from the Star Wars movies (pretty much exclusively OT) but I've only just gotten round to posting! This is my latest - the infamous Bespin Duel. Checked loads of movie stills, but couldn't find a single view of the whole gantry, so I've taken a bit of artistic licience. The main reason it's taken so long to get round to is the lack of a Bespin Luke minifig - I've put him together from a rebel technician torso and Johnny Thunder (jungle) legs!

I couldn't resist getting Luke to throw himself off at the end!

Hi Richpepperell, and welcome to Eurobricks!

It's always good to see something from Cloud City, and you've done a great job. The detailing on the antenna assembly is particularly good.

I hope you don't mind but I've deeplinked a couple of the photos from flickr. For future reference here's a few instructions to do this (it may be different depending on the browser you're using, but hopefully it might be a useful starting point):

i) Select the photo in flickr and click on the download 'arrow' in the bottom-right of the screen

ii) Select 'View all sizes' and then click on the hyperlink for your preferred size (maximum of 600 x 800!)

iii) Next right-click on the photo and select 'Properties'. If you're using Chrome you can just select 'Copy image URL' and go to step v)

iv) Next copy the 'Address: (URL)' details (it will start 'https:' and end with 'jpg'

v) Next create a new thread in Eurobricks and click on the 'image' icon on the toolbar (it looks like a framed tree!)

vi) Paste in the copied photo address in the 'URL' and click 'OK'

Cheers, Robin :classic:

One thing I would suggest, is changing the Luke head to the one from the Ewok Village/Death Star Final Duel, so you can have Luke frowning.

Thanks for all the fantastic feedback - really encouraging. I've made a couple of changes and I'm just waiting for a new hairpiece for Luke to arrive then I'll post some more pics. I'm going more for the vibe of the scene rather than total screen-accuracy so I'm chuffed with the responses so far! :classic:
