Transparency for Effect Posted June 14, 2015 Is there any software (or multiple pieces of software) for importing a Bricklink Wanted List and finding the cheapest combination of stores to get all the parts from?
Horsecreek Posted June 14, 2015 Brickficiency is the only software I can think of. I havn't tried it myself so I can't tell more about it.
Phoxtane Posted June 14, 2015 Brickficiency works well - I like to let it run and find one, two, and three-store combinations of stores for whatever parts I need. Rather than spend $45 on an order from a single store, I spent $33 after ordering from three separate stores instead, even after shipping!
Vorkosigan Posted June 14, 2015 Brickficiency has worked well for me. You do need to get a little used to the settings and pay attention to your wanted list having proper configurations (not specifying new for long discontinued items etc). There is also Brickwizard, I personally couldn't get it to work but it claims to be faster.
badbob001 Posted June 15, 2015 (edited) You should try both Brickficiency or Brickwizard. Brickficiency is very polished, has many useful options. Brickwizard is a pretty bare-bone almost alpha-looking app, but runs so much faster (having an answer today vs next morning). I sort of use both. I use Brickficiency to download a wanted list from bricklink and save it as a bsx file (save me the trouble of messing around with brick forge). Then I use the bsx file in Brickwizard. If you are in the USA, Brickwizard 13b is good to try since that version will only show results from within the USA. Later versions, unless it's fixed, limits you to choose stores by region and choosing north america will also give you results from Canada, which may not be what you want. It has been a while since I needed these apps so it's possible they are working better or worse than before. The rate of new releases for both apps has slow considerably, most likely due to the authors not having enough time to work on it. Brickficiency has a good amount of features so it may be close to feature complete. Brickwizard still lacks many features so the slow down in development would affect that app more. Before these two apps came out, I had used some mathlab scripts that someone posted about on brickset. Now that was difficult to use, but still like a beam from heaven compared to the hell of manually doing it. Edited June 15, 2015 by badbob001
Transparency for Effect Posted June 15, 2015 Thanks for the advice. On Brickficieny currently, nearly all the options are greyed out. How do I fix this?
Phoxtane Posted June 15, 2015 There's a Brickficiency thread in the digital tools subforum. My guess is you need to create a new file before you can do anything, though.
Vorkosigan Posted June 16, 2015 Thanks for the advice. On Brickficieny currently, nearly all the options are greyed out. How do I fix this? Did it update the database when you started? Did you load a wanted list?
Transparency for Effect Posted June 16, 2015 Nevermind, it started up with a notice of updating the database and it works now. Thanks anyway! On the other side, when trying to run its created wanted list in BrickWizard, it comes up with a notice of abortion on account of being unable to collect certain pricing info. Maybe I made the Wanted List wrong?
