Lego themes that we would like to happen

Recommended Posts

Lego Licensed

I would of course want to have more sets (mostly in the Marvel collection ) that are based on movies. I mean, like, sets that are based on the X-Men movies ( tell me, who would not want to own a replica of the lab from X2 ? Or the mansion as seen in those films. Or a miniature Anna Paquin. J) And of course more functions in those sets. Maybe even figures that have some kind of special function (stretchable arms for Mr.Fantastic ? Kitty Pryde who turns invisible if you pour water on her ? ).From the DC side it would be cool to see sets based on famous events in comic books (and I mean family-friendly events, no Death in the Family or Death of The Family) and more sets based on their movies ( despite GL being an absolute failure, it would be cool to see sets based on that flic.). And maybe, just maybe, one or two sets based on Vertigo. Just to have a minifig of Constantine.

More JP sets. No, seriously. I want to see a Spinosaurus with the modern dino-construction, because he was a complete mess in the original set. Or sets with the original T-Rex. Or for example bigger and better build Pterodactyls.

Another point where Lego has failed-Ben 10. I was a great fan of the series in the past (but I believe that Omniverse sucks major balls in pretty much every direction.), so I wanted to have a good series with Ben 10. Just imagine the possibilities ! A stretchable WildVine. A mixel-joint Way Big ! A bigfig Fourarms. And the list goes on and on.

A HP line featuring remakes of old sets, such as the Basilisks chamber, would be cool.

Also, a line named : Retro Heroes, which would feature various (kids) heroes and characters from the 80's and 90's, with sets focused on the Gargoyles, the Gremlins, the Goonies, Monster Squad etc.

And to finish this - a series dedicated to popular TV-series. The kids will maybe not recognize the characters, but this will one for the true fans. Because admit it -if you are over 25 and still into Lego, it is most likely that you are a geek.

Lego Star Wars

Okay, here I have nothing to say. It is great already. Maybe a little less remakes and more new sets. A set for the Geonosian arena would be nice. Or a set based on Padme’s ship from episode 1. Or remakes of sets that were great in the past, but now have been forgotten, such as Dagobah or Cloud City.

Lego Historic.

Lego Dragons. Yes, Lego Dragons. A theme that focuses on the conflict between 2 groups of warriors ( both of them Human) who ride their mighty, jointed Dragons into battle. New weapons. New molds for helmets, bodies and weapons. Completely unique Dragons, which have a solid-one piece body (with a place on which the mini-fig can sit) and jointed limbs and wings. Also, glowing eyes when a crystal is put on the Dragons fig and a function with which the Dragons can grip the character in question to tilt them and throw them. The next series could most likely feature some-kind of new villain to add to the mix, which attacks both groups at the same time, which however doesn't unite them. These villains could utilize some unique new monsters (maybe even have them have some Greek/Roman/Egyptian theme ? ). The third year would then feature a new villain, whose tactics would force the two groups to come together against the villain (with some-kind of romantic subplot forced into it ). They defeat the villain in question and something new comes on the horizon and you can imagine what came after that. Insert a few twists and turns and a unique culture and voila, you've got yourselves a pretty good series.

Maybe something focused on the Wild West, with cowboys and indians, with again, a basic story and a basic conflict between the two groups. And if Lego really wants to cash on the fans, make it steampunk. Good steampunk.

Maybe also an series that focuses on proper samurais and ninja’s.

Lego Action.

Lego Time Travelers. Imagine how far that could go ! Each year-another time period (with some kind of historical character being put into it.). Make it have some-kind of story (generic good guys chasing generic bad guys trough time) and some-kind of conflict with the characters of the time period and voilà

Lego Pirates

Pirates. No, simple as that. Pirates. But mean a Pirates line which has a background and (simple) story-line. Something about a cursed treasure to which a group of Pirates and a group of Corsairs are racing. But then it is revealed that the treasure is protected by ghosts of those who have put the treasure there and that by removing the treasure, they have let the ghosts escape. The maybe some other story with how the treasure got there in the first place (making Aztec sets a possibility). Add some sea-monsters, some zombies and fish-men for good measure and you are already on your way to success.

Lego Sci-Fi.

A Lego City-esque series that takes place in the future. Plain and simple. A futuristic house. A futuristic police force. Futuristic fire fighters. Some futuristic baddies. Maybe one-or two sets focused on Alien cultures and a few space-ships to add into the mix. No story needed here, plain and simple.

Lego City

Sets that involve a common household and several common jobs / places starting from somewhere in the 18th century and so on, ‘till the mid 90’s

More sets based on everyday life and jobs. They don’t always have to be cops or firefighters. A set with a hospital.(Lego House M.D or Grey’s Anatomy, anyone ?) Or a set involving a common, every day, house( with multiple smaller sets to fill it up) Or a school set. Or even an apartment.

Sets that involve people that operate on the wrong side of the law. So I mean criminals and similar. Maybe even a set or two that involves some-kind of mafia boss (similar to the Space Limo set from the Space Police series).

So that was it for me. What do you think of my ideas ?

Wondering why I didn't find this one before.

I love the idea of a dragon-based theme and have wanted it for a long time, but I don't think it'd be possible without a number of relatively major concessions. Amongst other things, to avoid a large number of new molds and the need to introduce new parts regularly to let dragons stay distinct (one of the problem Bionicle and it's non-modular system suffered from), I'd make the dragons out of brick-built modules, with each module having one or two colors to allow the modules to be mixed while staying coherent. To allow the story to be accessible to all, regardless of the level of story depth they want, I'd suggest developing the non-plot-relevant elements greatly, in the form of an official story dictionary or wiki. To keep things interesting, perhaps the kind of technology visible in the sets could reflect a high rate of technological development. Say the story starts in an area with technology vaguely similar to early Greco-Roman tech, with stuff like dragon-mounted ballistas, moving on to Antythykera mechanism-level clockwork tech (people love steampunk, right?) and eventually to a vaguely atomic age tech (also technically steampunk, considering how nuclear power plants work). It'd make sense for technology to progress quickly if intellectual development is stimulated by the enormous effects of wizards and the like.

Ok, maybe I should change my News theme idea to a full-on TV theme. Like, one set is the morning show set, the other the cooking show, then the court and talk shows, and then some sitcoms and dramas for primetime, and another talk show for latenight.

It would be really great if LEGO made a theme based on some 16/18/M-rated videogames, so that the sets could sell abysmally after the company incurs the wrath of disgusted parents via our ever helpful media.

To be honest, I took the idea from MegaBlocks. As well as several other ideas (stretchable and color-changing minifigures). Despite them being a failure now, they were great in the past, utilizing ideas that Lego never would (or wanted to ) utilize.

Yeah, I was thinking of Megablocks too. I loved those things. I still think brick-built modules, with their better size/price ratio would work better than simply making lots of unique molds. Maybe a specialized claw mold that doesn't have the weird heel of the CCBS beast foot. One new mold that would be necessary is a good wing mold (or two, perhaps one "elegant", for more regal dragons and one tattered one for really ancient dragons). To avoid the fragility and non-LEGO look of cloth pieces, I'd suggest making them from flexible rubber, similar to some DUPLO pieces. This would allow them to fold easily, while still forming stable connections.

Totally agree.Ben 10 can be a great theme, but TLC just ruined the theme. What we need is minifigures Ben Tennyson, the Ailens like Heatblast, villain characters like Vilgax and other Ben 10 characters with brick-built vehicles like Grandpa Max Van and Vilgax Ship.Lego fans don't need a bunch of stupid looking action figures!

Star Wars theme also need to make more new sets, not more remaked sets. It's kind of dump that TLC prefer to release remaked sets that new sets. We're tired of remaked sets and we need more sets that based on screens from the movies and more EU stufts, like a VT-49 Decimator set,Geonosian Arena, and a new E-Wing Escort Starfighter will be awesome.

LEGO doesn't want to have a theme that promotes the products of one of its own major competitors.

But what about Ben 10!?Bandai also make Ben 10 action figure, and you say that TLC don't want to have a theme that promotes the products of it's competitor. In Ben 10 cases,it's invalid.Plus,I didn't say that TLC need to make the sets based on any of Transformers cartoon and movies.TLC can make they own Transformers story and sets, like The Yoda Chronicles from Star Wars theme.

Something that I just thought about - that I see potential in is the Jungle Book - disney is bringing out a new life action version of the movie and since lego and disney have worked together in the past this one would actually be somewhat likely - hopefully they will do it with lots of new jungle foliage elements and animals...

I want very much to see some really big and super realistic vehicle sets with over 5.000 pieces in the model team style. This theme will include (non licensed) big american and of course european trucks something wich is relatively rare with lego, racing cars, construnction and farming equipment, like brick built(and no technic, wich are already really good )

excavators,tractors,cranes,some classic and muscle cars,off roaders,etc...

My second idea is a theme with steampunk vehicles like early steampunk cars and trucks(as these from the dawn of automotive history).

Lastly,I suggest a theme of modular vehicles like cars and trucks. These will be very realistic, they will have interchangable parts and thay can be tuned and persolnalised with the addition of a variety of smaller independant sets like front and back spoilers, skirts, chrome parts packs, new hoods,etc...This will be a non licensed theme wich will include mostly japan style cars, american muscle cars and american trucks(vehicles which are the object of the tuning scene  )...Give me your opinion about my ideas, thank you :classic:

I would really want to see LEGO go into the SW Expanded Universe. Most notably KOTOR, the EBON HAWK is just begging to be made. There are a plethora of ships that can be made as well as characters. What would really win me over is BSG-nu or classic--granted the argument that it is too violent or not for kids---Im sorry, have you seen what is in the movies of late? BSG is mild compared to some of the current tv/cinema shows out there. I think LEGO is just sewn up with SW and another brick company that doesn't mind that adult fans are into mature scifi, I can see MB picking up the license. If they treat it as well as CALL OF DUTY and HALO, they will be a force to be reckoned with. I love LEGO, but I would like to see LEGO start going for an adult themed line. Walking Dead, Call of Duty, Halo I-IV are pretty kickarse,

Thunderbirds and a Gerry Anderson line....I'm all in.

Although we have gotten Ideas sets of, and soon to be Dimensions products as well, for Doctor Who and BTTF I would love to see themes based upon these two. I could easily see us getting Cyberman Vs Dalek battlepacks

Another theme I would just adore would be Pokemon. Only problem being, we probably wouldn't get every Pokemon. But, we would get the major ones, which I am perfectly okay with.

If Lego want to avoid the ethical questions of zoos (though to be fair, I am not aware of that many involving major zoos, only that issue with that Seaworld place), they could do a natural world theme, based on animals and their habitats all across the world in different biomes, perhaps with only a biologist or documentary TV crew if minifigures are needed at all. Add that with the countless police stations people no doubt own with their bars, transparent panels etc, then you get an instant zoo.

Another theme that would be nice but would never happen would be modular towers, ie, like the modulars but have the floors sold separately, so one set would be the ground floor and roof (for example, a fancy foyer/lobby, or a storefront), and other sets are apartments/commercial buildings that can fit on top of each other due to same facade and stair placement, focussing on detailed interiors (cat lady's apartment/frat pad/newlyweds etc). Though I can't see much of a market for it.

A licensed theme I would like to see is Tomb Raider, though I doubt it will ever happen due to the focus on gunplay, even in the earlier puzzle and exploration focussed Core Design games, it would likely be too violent with all enemies, shooting and butler popsicles

Good idea, but if it actually happen,it may not sell well because of the high piece count that may cause the price been ridiculously expensive. The modular vehicles theme is already existed, called Speed Champions.

Another theme I would just adore would be Pokemon. Only problem being, we probably wouldn't get every Pokemon. But, we would get the major ones, which I am perfectly okay with.

Sadly, there's already many toy companies at Japan that sell Pokemon toys.

I would love a Legend of Zelda theme. So much potential.

I like nintendo too! Zelda would be awesome!

Castles!

Treehouse villages!

Knights

Lore

Awesome characters

Creatures

the perfect castle theme!

Probably not gonna happen anytime soon - especially now that we are getting nexo knights (one of those reasons I decided to buy the arjitzu temple!)

I'd love to see a reboot of Castle. Primarily, I want Forestmen and Wolfpack rebooted, as the Lions and Dragons have been overdone. Make the Falcons the main knight faction.

I'd also love to see Legend of Zelda, Dragonlance, or Adventure Time.

As for Lord of the Rings, someone mentioned the Witch King on Fellbeast versus Eowyn. I would love this set, with a dragon much like Smaug. Also, Gondor.

I want LEGO to do a set in the same general line as the VW Beetle, VW Van and Ferrari F40 but of a Lamborghini. They did 2 sets in the past (a yellow one and a blue police car) and I want more (still kicking myself that I was never able to get the yellow Lambo, got the blue cop car though). I would also like to see a set in the same general line but of a pickup truck (or as us Aussies call em, a Ute)

Not something City sized or Speed Champions sized but big like the F40.

Has LEGO ever done a pickup truck at a large size before? (oh wait yes they did, I should have remembered it since I own a 4404 Land Busters :)

I know that it is about to be an Ideas set but as a line Doctor Who should be a thing. Especially since they already have the licensing.

Another thing I'd love to see would be a line of Creator Expert Modular buildings in Medieval Europe styles. Picture something like the Parisian Restaurant, Detective's Office, or Pet Shop, but done up as a medieval bakery, a butcher shop, a blacksmith's, or even a wizard's study. Basically a huge modular version of the Medieval Market Village.

I've been thinking of just parting out the sets in more medieval color schemes to do it myself, and I still might, but it would just be recolored versions of their sets. I'd love to see these done as completely new, official sets.

I, too, would love to see Star Trek (albeit from the "prime" universe, please, not the 2009 quasi-reboot and its sequels, though I'm afraid they're exactly what thd focus would be on if LEGO actually were doing this franchise). I also would like to see them do The Muppets, and I actually think they'd be a good fit if they could come up with good representations of the characters.

I also would love to see a City Zoo subtheme.

For existing themes I want more from, I'll jump in and note I wouldn't mind seeing more Middle-Earth stuff. The ones I'd really like most, though, are more "Classic" Space, and more Indiana Jones.

Yes, they have and still do. He probably meant the old monkeys with the moveable arms and legs. They came with some pirate sets. The current monkeys are stiff as a lump of ABS plastic. :classic:

The "current monkeys" seem not to be monkeys at all, but apes.

There seems to be 2 different molds out there. One is the Chimpanzee used in the CMF line (not sure what the official LEGO name of the part is although LEGO does call it a Chimpanzee in the CMF description) and one is the Orangutan used in the Friends line (LEGOs part database calls it a monkey but at least one set calls it an Orangutan)

OrangUtan is actually a type of exotic animal species in my country.
