Customizing Bootlegs

Recommended Posts

Nice work, Bro. Very impressive. Think you can try an Incredible Hulk Abomination variant?

Thank you!! Yes sure one day I will make it :classic:

Great work! What did you use for the ears?

Btw, the JLB fairies is a decent place to get some wings. It takes a bit of LEGO engineering (you need a trans neck bracket the one that Hawkman uses and then 2 trans round pins that come with the new Friends sets) and voila:

Thank you ! A bit sculpt and decals.

Sure I will use those wings too. Thanks for the tip!

You are a mind-reader!

I just ordered a Darkseid to make an Apacolypse! Btw, what did you use for the tubing?

Looks great!

Yes, the wire!

Thanks for the reply. Last question, how did you attach the cable? Did you create a hole in the arms and in the back and connect them?

Yes, with only a mini screwdriver.

It's time to suit up! by bricks @ raminator, on Flickr

Bought some time ago the Bootleg Wasp (I believe it was Brand "OK"). Yesterday it arrived and I made some spicing up. First I replaced the arms and hands with original Lego parts (arm holes are a bit tight. so you need to press/push pretty hard to get them in). Then I changed the head to a printed item of my current Spiderwoman. Wings are Galaxy Squad and hair is CMF.

The design of the torso (atleast the front) is actually pretty good. Print quality is above potato ;) Unfortunately it has Christo-Waist-Line- Syndrom.

In the end I'm pretty happy with the composition.

Cheers

Decals for namor and wonderman printed on DecalPrint.de (transparent decals)

Mole man just changed head and legs.

Superior spiderman changed tentacles, spray painted

Here is a question for those that use Clear Coat:

If you wanted to do a "layer" -- for example -- lets say I wanted to paint Cap's helmet -- I would initially paint it blue but then would you clear coat it before painting the A? Or would you paint the helmet and the the A and then clear coat it?

actually, for best results, you would base in white, mask off the A then final color coat, then pull the mask off, let cure then topcoat in clear
