Dazz Posted May 15, 2015 This looks truly beautiful and captures perfectly the essence of real-life temple sites.
PaddyBricksplitter Posted May 16, 2015 Brilliant. Those roof tops must have been very difficult to build. Well done, it's a great build inside and out.
The Indivisible Woman Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) Lovely build, especially in the construction of the rooves and the criss-crossing wooden beams. It kind of reminds me of the castles in the Kurosawa movie Throne of Blood, but maybe that shows how much I know about Japanese architecture... I always think of Tibetan or Cambodian Buddhist temples, so it's interesting to see a Japanese one! it took me a second to realize that the real life comparison photographs weren't part of your model too. Same here - the attention to detail is impeccable. How sturdy is the curved roof, by the way? It looks great, but looking at the process of how you built it I feel like it could be quite brittle (maybe not)? PolkovnikOnTheWhiteHorse Posted May 23, 2015 Thanks for everyone)! How sturdy is the curved roof, by the way? It looks great, but looking at the process of how you built it I feel like it could be quite brittle (maybe not)? It's sturdy enough, actually).
