Hello everyone,

Here's my newest MOC, a Mercedes G-Class. After months of hard work, and bugs and fixes, it's finally finished. It was built to incorporate all of the best elements of high-torque gearing with a compact bodywork. It features:

-Drive - 2 x XL, geared 4.5 : 1

-Steering - 1 x Servo

-Lights - 6 x LED with hidden switch

-Suspension - pendular

Dance, dance, dance...tra-la-la

Very good work.

But why pendular? You have so much work and gave up on suspension?

Thanks, rm8! I chose pendular because the car doesn't go fast enough to need up and down suspension, and it's the only way to avoid universal joints which would break under the strain of two XL's.

I'm surprised this topic hasn't got more attention as this looks like a really clean design and captures the G Class well

Yeah I know right? But I have noticed that over the last couple of days the forum has been a bit quiet. Anyway this looks great, I especially like the headlights and wheel arches. How well does it perform off road?

Thanks so much guys for the support! It was a lot of work, and it did turn out pretty decent, and I'm glad it's liked. In answer to the pendular questions, that's cause car doesn't go fast enough to need up and down suspension, and it's the only way to avoid universal joints which would break under the strain of two XL's.

Now that's the right scale :D

Unfortunately, no video for poor Germans thanks to SME music and GEMA :(

GREAT! Also, looks like having the Unimog gives you plenty of required parts already ;) (yes, this is a hidden question about instructions :P)

Very nice, not sure which colour it is. Is it orange? Or is it overexposed red?

I like the reasoning behind the suspension choice. Did you decide that before you started the model, or did you first break some U-joints?

Phenomenal work!

You beat ZERO BRICKS building this thing in mere days

That was just lucky, I'd been working on it for a long time!

I broke some U-joints a while back and learned my lesson

The color is red, just the pictures were overexposed as you say.

Awesome. The construction is really robust. Where were the u-joints that broke?

Hey,

could you please reupload the video without content restricted music? Users from Germany can not watch your video, because it is blocked...

You could use efferman's universal joints, those are very strong
