Future Star Wars Sets

I got the Clone Wars box set season 1-5 as a birthday present recently.  Half way through it.  How did I miss this?!  Now of course I look and drool over the Clone Wars sets that came out back in 2013 particularly 75021.

What do you think the chances are of The Clone Wars set making a reappearance?  A Venator Class Starship? the Gunship again?

Also a SW minifigure series would be awesome.  Particularly a Jedi series!

I agree with your sentiments. Given the rumours of the V-19 Torrent re-release have gathered some weight now, I fully anticipate a Republic Gunship and AT-TE to be coming in the near future. A Dropship and AT-TE would be even better as a UCS. Would also like to see a system-scale Venator and again, given the popularity of the ship, can see it coming in the future after the First Order Star Destroyer is retired, before we see another system-scale Imperial Star Destroyer be released again.

A Star Wars minifigure series, however unlikely it may come to fruition, would also be nice. In an ideal world, I'd like to see a handful of series released. Each would consist of 16 minifigures and feature those characters that are not necessarily noteworthy enough to warrant appearing in a set, as a means of having them represented in minifigure form still. One could focus on the Original Trilogy, another on the Prequels, one on the Clone Wars, one on the Legends Expanded Universe, and another on the new Disney canon. The Original Trilogy series would give us access to some cantina patrons and Imperial officers from Episode 4, as well as some Rebel personnel and a couple of Palpatine's aides from Return of the Jedi. The only minifigure I feel we haven't seen that we need see is Zuckuss from Episode 5, but I have a feeling LEGO will one day stick him in a set somewhere given how popular the character is. As for the Prequel Trilogy, some Senators, Separatist Council members and some lesser-known Jedi Knights as well as Naboo characters. The Clone Wars series would just cover popular characters that we've not yet seen and perhaps update a number of Clone Wars-themed characters that haven't been re-released without those traumatising animated faces. The Legends series would involve a variety of significant characters from Legends who are unfortunately no longer canon but did not feature in any films either; speaking of being canon, the Disney canon series would feature characters from the Sequel Trilogy, Rogue One etc..

On another note, here is a slightly more realistic possibility I'd like to see.

Hammerhead Corvette

Would include the following figures: Captain Kado Oquoné, Mon Calamari Officer (white), Rebel Fleet Pilot (tan uniform like Oquoné/Captain Antilles), Rebel Fleet Trooper and finally the unnamed Red Twelve (the moustached pilot in the Battle of Scarif who speaks more than once and has a really fascinating helmet design).

Next year (2019) is the 20th anniversary of Lego SW. So I think we should see some great and classic sets then. I bet that which concerns the OT, there for sure will be minimum one set of every episode - supposably from the locations of Tatooine, Hoth and Endor.

As someone who buys (if at all) only System scale OT sets, I'm really hoping for the following five sets:

  • Tantive IV Rebel Blockade Runner (with decent and detailed interior!)
  • Lukes's Home or Obi Wan's Home
  • TIE Bomber
  • AT-ST
  • TIE Interceptor

Seeing as UCS Cloud City is becoming more and more a realistic possibility, I have the following smaller sets to suggest to compliment it.

Cloud Car - £25.99-region set

Includes: Cloud Car Pilot (x2) and Bespin Guard.

Bespin Battle Pack

Includes: Imperial Stormtrooper (x2), Bespin Guard and Ugnaut.

No matter the unlikelihood of us ever getting a genuinely convincing Mon Calamari Cruiser from LEGO, a UCS Home One would be a nice set given its iconic role as Ackbar's command ship and the location of the Endor briefing scene in Return of The Jedi. It wouldn't necessarily need much of an interior given how structurally insecure such a set would be, so long as the bridge and briefing theatre are represented in some way.

UCS Home One

Includes: Admiral Ackbar (updated design), Mon Mothma (updated design), Mon Calamari Bridge Officer, B-Wing Pilot and a Gray Squadron Pilot (different helmet design to 75050).

What, they'll reissue updated designs from the first trilogy? Count me in! In fact, I might even buy doubles for some of them...

My fondest Lego memory is building the X-Wing the very evening after buying it when it hit the shelves in Belgium, so I'm more than eager to relive that and share it with my children.

I'm sure I'm not on my own here but since starting to collect Lego Star Wars I've always wanted to see large, well detailed vignette scenes. Full scale (or close to it) movie moments full recreated. Examples would be Rey sitting outside her home in TFA (I've seen the fantastic MOC of this), a full scale Millenium Falcon cockpit, this could also work for things like an AT-AT. Imagine a true to scale AT-AT head which opens up to reveal a fully detailed interior?

This is some top tier wish listing though so I guess I'll just need to start developing my MoC skills!

Not sure this is the right place to comment... but my frustration at Lego in relation to the Star Wars line has been boiling for a few years now with the poor choice of minfigures or the smaller/poor design of their redesigns. Here’s what the summer line should have looked like...

Anakin Skywalker Starfighter: This one is fine in all honesty.

Snokes Throne Room: Again solid, but that price point is disastrous!

X-Wing: Fantastic set here.

Hoth Scene: Feels like a boxed up chunk of another set... not sure I’d have included this.

Sandcrawler: For a set of this size it screams for a greater depth in figures. Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru, Luke, r2, C3-PO, 2xJawas, Same droids in the set

Imperial Landing Craft: Good set just a really uninspiring line up of figures. Add a new officer or Stormtrooper and we don’t need r2...

I have seen Solo this evening and enjoyed the film. I would like to see the following at some point in the future. Some spoilers below.

Heavy TIE Fighter - including Qi'Ra (Kessel Mine disguise), L3-37, a TIE Pilot, and an Imperial Officer with a new torso insignia, one seen either on Corellia or at Dryden Vos' party.

All Terrain Defense Turret - including a dirty Chewbacca, the Imperial Lieutenant that orders Han be imprisoned after Beckett sells him out as a deserter, and a Mimban Stormtrooper much like that in 75211 but with either an ammo pouch across the torso or a backpack - I noticed both additions to their armour on Mimban in the film.

Battle on Mimban - essentially the same idea as 75139 and 75171, including Val in her mudtrooper disguise, a pair of Imperial Mudtroopers (fully masked), and a pair of whoever it was they were fighting - I couldn't make them out properly in the battle scene (presumably local resistance).

So after watching Solo here’s my idea for missing sets:

Fight in Dryden Vos’ Office. Pretty much a guaranteed set.

This set could be done in 2 different ways:

1) 20$ set with some artifacts in the office. Minifigures: Qi’ra, Han, Dryden Vos.

2) 40-50$ more substantial office build. Minifigures: Beckett, Han, Chewie, Qi’ra, Dryden Vos.

Kessel mines revolt:

80$ set Small command center,  coaxium vault, starship landing platform with turret.

Minifigures: Qi’ra(disguised), Beckett ( disguised), L3, Han, random wookiee, Kessel guards x2.

For the 20th anniversary next year it'd be nice to see something a bit special we haven't seen before, like Yavin IV or Lars Homestead. A Tantive IV would also be great.

Yavin IV - Ceremony Luke, Han, and Leia, Dodonna, Red Leader, Ground Crew, Honour Guard, R2, 3PO, Red Leader's Droid. Build is Massassi temple with Hangar, War/Conference Room and Ceremony Hall. Could also feature an X-wing or Y-Wing in the same scale as the Death Star TIE.

Lars Homestead - Luke with poncho, Owen, Beru, R2, 3PO, various droids (GNK, Treadwell, KPR, etc), also a Bantha and Tusken. Build would be the kitchen, dining room, courtyard and service bay, with a V-35 and Luke's Landspeeder.

Tantive IV - just an updated version of the 2009 set.

I'd like to see the other capital ships done in a similar scale to the Tantive IV and 2014 Star Destroyer. Nebulon B would have Luke, Leia and Lando in their ESB outfits, with 2-1B, R2, 3PO and Chewie as possible additions. Super Star Destroyer would have Ozzel, Piett, Vader, Zuckass and a few Imperials.

I for one would love updated Endor Bunker and Home One sets. Just picked both 7754 and 8038 up today and while the builds are pretty solid, the minifigures could use some updating...

Quite the opposite actually, but your comment is completely irrelevant nonetheless.

Duel on Mustafar is another set long overdue a remake. It can be done at different price points, but I think 50-60$ one would be perfect. Minifigures: Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme ( still can’t believe we never got her Ep 3 version), Nute Ganrey, 2 battledroids.

Speaking of new sets, does anyone have the new polybags for the Mudtrooper & Kessel Mine Worker? The ones in this video? I know some people already have them, but I'm not hearing any solid info of where and when they are coming, I think a few people have managed to get some leaked versions in advance.

I'm conscious of the fact that 2019 will be the 20th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars and fully anticipate a bit of 'fan service' so to speak to mark the occasion.

For the two UCS sets, I am sincerely hoping that a remake of the Star Destroyer from the early 2000s will be one of them. It could either be an all-out detailed set that costs several hundred, or perhaps they could keep it at the ~200 mark and have it just be an upgrade of the system scale Star Destroyer from 2014. I suppose both options are viable, but I'd much prefer a more expensive but more detailed set. Regardless, an interior of some sort would be great, even if it would just be a bridge area somewhere in the main body of the ship. As for the other set, it would be nice to see a UCS AT-AT at long last, given how this iconic vehicle, despite its huge popularity, cultural significance and having been released several times in system scale, has never been given an official UCS rendition.

As for the anniversary sets, considering we got a handful of them in 2009 for the 10th anniversary, I am not sure what to expect from LEGO. Would three UCS sets released in a year be plausible? I'd certainly be on board for that idea. A UCS Yavin 4 Rebel Base is long overdue and we know from the past that such an idea has been in the works before but unfortunately not made it to release. A UCS Jabba's Sail Barge would be nice given the sail barge is something of a 'holy grail' set for many collectors, although it may conflict with the Hasbro Sail Barge that is on its way. With regards to system scale anniversary sets, I'd like to see a TIE Interceptor or TIE Bomber, perhaps as an exclusive or limited edition run, given how both seem to be so heavily craved by fans.

I guess it is anyone's guess what we will get, but there are my ideals.

There's a few versions of Padme I'm shocked we still haven't gotten yet - Mustafar, Theed Battle and an unripped Geonosis variant. All of which are very prominent in the movies and "action-ish" costumes.

When you consider Princess Leia is only about four costumes short of having her entire wardrobe represented in Lego form - not to mention the different variations of Rey, Ahsoka, Sabine, Ventress, Jyn, Qi'ra and Rose we've received - its disappointing that Padme is still getting the short end of the stick.

Just two releases each year - oftentimes there are as many as four or five UCS sets available for purchase at any given moment. Right now for example there is the Faclon, the Death Star, Slave I, Snowspeeder, and Y-Wing.

Here, here! Padme deserves her time, I never got the stick she got really considering how badass she could be at times, especially in the Clone Wars too. Bring on more Padme!!

Those two versions of Padme are what have really come to my mind lately. I want Mustafar Padme because we don't have any episode 3 Padmes and whilst her earlier costume in that movie is really nice, I can't see what set they would include it in. A mustafar set is more likely. And a Theed Battle set seems overdue. A handmaiden could be thrown in there too.

As someone who grew up as the prequel trilogy was being released, Padme was my idol: smart, sexy and, like you say, badass. I've always felt she was underrepresented in sets, which is why I treasure my Geonosis arena Padme and her Queen Amidala minifigures.

As for actual sets, I would love a set that does more justice to the architecture of Naboo, whether it be the buildings or the ships. Even as a kid, I thought it was a cool city and loved Padme's ship.
