[MOC]: Gallardo's Garage (6-wide Cars)

Recommended Posts

Welcome to Gallardo's Garage, here I will be posting up each of my newest city Car MOCs including past cars I've already shared here. the newest car will be added to the end of this first post.

Featured New Car:

The Dodge Viper ACR (2009)

The American Club Racing (ACR) model's upgrades included street-legal racing tires (Michelin Pilot Sport Cups which Michelin describes as "Ultra-High Performance Sport tires"),two-piece brake rotors, adjustable suspension, and significant aerodynamic revision. No engine modifications were made, so power and torque remain at 600 hp (450 kW) and 560 lb·ft (760 N·m) as in the standard SRT-10. The ACR is street-legal! Weight was also decreased by 40 lb (18 kg) by using the "Hardcore Package", without AC, radio, speakers, amplifier, trunk carpet, hood pad or tire-inflator. Its aerodynamic upgrades produce up to 1000 pounds of downforce at 150 mph (240 km/h), or roughly 10 times the downforce the standard Viper SRT-10 can produce at the same speed. The interior was upgraded only by the addition of a beacon-tripped lap timer (Hardcore Edition Only).

The Lego version is quite similar, with its aggressive stance, large brakes, and complete aerodynamic package. this Viper is ready to Terrorize the streets of a quite Lego city near you! (well maybe only near me for now). so here it is, The 2009 Dodge Viper ACR, 6w+, 18 studs long!

the signature A-symetrical racing stripes are very easy to see from this angle, running across the entire car length!

this last one is for the MOCpages contest, just to prove that yes a Figure can fit in the car completely! (if i remove the stripe on the roof i can give him a helm too)

The Renault Alpine A442B, was the 1978 winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and was the 3rd year in which it competed. after the victory Renault withdrew from endurance racing entirely, and moved into F1 racing. the A442 was the last French built and designed car to win the Iconic French 24 Heures du Mans.

My MOC is of the A442, before the "Bubble Top" was added to the car, the "Bubble" was used on the 1978 victory car. this is my longest city car to date, at 19 studs in length. this is due to the extremely long rear section which was meant to reduce drag for the very high speed Mulsanne straight, at Circuit de la Sarthe (name of the track which hosts the 24 hours of Le Mans) the Minifig driver sits fully upright in this car thanks to its open roof design.

New Car! The Pagani Huayra!

The Pagani Huayra is an Italian mid-engined sports car produced by Pagani. The Huayra was named "The Hypercar of the Year 2012" by Top Gear magazine and received a very positive review when tested by Richard Hammond on Top Gear. The Huayra is currently the fastest car to go around the Top Gear Test Track, setting a time of 1:13.8

And now, for the first time, it is available for minifigs to enjoy! (disclaimer: first time in speed champions styling)

16291418503_fc06543ced_z.jpg

The Profile of my model is very sleek, low and in my opinion very elegant. but lets be honest here i am trying to replicate a real car which embodies all of those same features. it is also very easy to see that Yes, a Minifig does fit! comfortably too!

16723761348_532e73a2f0_z.jpg

here we can see Pagani's signature quad exhaust!

16910184912_1a491e8235_z.jpg

Smooth short hood indicating mid engined power plant, and narrow nose another common feature on Pagani cars. also easy to see in this view are the tall spindly side mirrors.

Lastly is a comparison with the official Lego McLaren P1, showing just how well this car fits in with the rest of the Speed champion cars!

I hope you liked my build! comments and Critiques always welcomed!

Great job on that, esp. the rear. Interesting headlight take. I like it when people tend to the less well-known cars.

Thanks, I try to build things I most people haven't done yet, (in this scale that is) also I reworked the tail a bit, I think its over all a vast improvement.

My newest car is finally here, the Maserati MC12! This Italian supercar was built on the same chassis as the Ferrari Enzo, but was completely restyled by Maserati. nick named the Enzo secondGeneration. it was taller, Longer and Wider than the Enzo, due to this it weighed more and was ultimately slower both in acceleration and top speed. in competition it did rather well in GT1, but was found to be to long for American Le Mans series racing.

This is far and away my longest City car to date at a full 19 studs long! likely a record to be held until I get around to a Limo or Pickup Truck. it is also 1 plate taller than my Pagani (roof scoop only)

16872065288_253c8a25af_z.jpg

Long Low nose and side break vents and rear radiator intakes.

17059862005_b3d6b2635d_z.jpg

from this angle the signature hood vents are visible.

16872062248_72f20327e0_z.jpg

you can see here just how long it is 7 studs between fenders, and another 5 added outside them

16872059958_b3d888c771_z.jpg

lastly the rear, where the quad exhaust is easily visible (side note, the Binoculars are probably the best piece ever for exhaust on cars like this)

As always, I hope you enjoyed my build, there are more pictures of the car in my Flickr, for those that want to see more. Comments and critiques welcomed!

Surprise! another new one!

The 1995 Renault Espace F1!

In 1995, Renault displayed a show car called the Espace F1, which was created by Matra to celebrate both the 10th anniversary of the Espace and Renault's involvement in Formula One racing. Though it resembled an Espace with substantial bodywork changes, the vehicle had more in common with a Formula One car. The vehicle used a lightweight carbon fibre F1-style chassis in combination with a carbon fibre-reinforced Espace J63-series body. Powering the Espace F1 was an 800 hp (597 kW; 811 PS) upgraded from its original rating of 700 hp (522 kW; 710 PS) 3.5-litre, 40-valve Renault RS5 V10 engine, as used in the 1993 Williams-Renault FW15C.

As with an F1 car, the V10 engine was mid-engined and the power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed semi-automatic gearbox, also used in the Williams FW15C. The engine and transmission allowed the Espace F1 to accelerate from 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 2.8 seconds, 0–200 km/h (0–124 mph) in 6.9 seconds and carry on accelerating to a top speed of 312 km/h (194 mph). With the use of carbon-ceramic brakes, the Espace F1's deceleration was no less impressive that its acceleration, and could accelerate from 0–270 km/h (0–168 mph) and brake from top speed to a complete halt in under 600 metres (1,969 ft)

My Lego Version is 6 bricks tall, and 18 studs long, fits a single figure, and sports a massive v-8 engine in the middle (as apposed to the V-10 mentioned above)

17059137841_65cbc3fd26_z.jpg

Happy Little Jester piloting a vehicle as absurd as he is!

side view showing the intakes for the mid engined Super Van.

Top removed to show the above mentioned over sized V-8 engine.

16852530307_4329fe251f_z.jpg

and lastly Quad exhaust (again? yes apparently cars i pick to convert to brick are all sporting quad exhausts!)

As always, I hope you enjoyed my build, there are more pictures of the car in my Flickr, for those that want to see more. Comments and critiques welcomed!

Excellent cars. I could easily use the Masserati. I dont know if it would be too long. My own longest car for the racing-diorama is 18 studs long...

I like the rims on the super-mini-van!

Very cool rides of some iconic sports cars with a high recognition level. Like the two Renaults and the KTM most.

Very well done!

Teaser time! I've completed a new car BUT! this time I'm only giving you 1 picture for now. I'll post the entire car either in the next day or so, or shortly after a correct guess is made on the car built :)

Well time to reveal the new car, not many guesses though (not really a surprise the picture was very vague  ) of the guesses i did receive one was "German" nope sorry, another was "Japanese, Skyline or another Nissan or Honda?" also nope.

the correct answer?

Side view here it is easy to see the large disc brakes. Big thank you to ER0L for showing the tire trick this was adapted from!

17285055685_31ec3407ba_z.jpg

17283244592_1a43f22eae_z.jpg

the signature A-symetrical racing stripes are very easy to see from this angle, running across the entire car length!

17284551521_aaff6f0aa6_z.jpg

this last one is for the MOCpages contest, just to prove that yes a Figure can fit in the car completely! (if i remove the stripe on the roof i can give him a helm too)

I hope you liked my build! comments and Critiques always welcomed!
