I don't decided yet. Biggest challenge is placement of 8881 battery pack. Maybe other will be easyer to integrate.

Of course, there ir pretty much space in sidecar. Placement could be so

I LOVE THIS!

I'm a great sidecar fan and have designed a number of different chassis on LDD. If you could get this to work I'd be extremely impressed!

This maybe extremely hard to do but make the receiver the driver. Actually I saw this one or a similar side car in the BMW museum.

I'm afraid, that i will disassamble this, and recreate more like spaceframe. Something closer to this

Some progress (rebuild from scratch) yesterday

P1090006.JPG

P1090009.JPG

Possible size

P1090008.JPG

I thought, that it will be pretty big, but not so big ...

I don't have so much panels. My this years lego budget is already empty and wife angry ...

If i'll use smaller wheels (which i also don't have for something like this), then it will be almost impossible to create front suspension. Now it is almost as real.

I have smaller wheels only from 42037 (it wont be very incorrect, as it will be somthnig like dune sidecar then, and overall dimeter is close to those already used) and 42035.

Just bought 42026 and 42027 for smaller wheels. I'm sick ...

So it seems that there will be first some smaller version.

Here is a design I made a while back, but feel free to use any of the ideas on it.

F1%20Sidecar%201_zpsnxuducf8.png

It has some fundamental flaws, such as the sidecar wheel being too far back. Plus I have never tested it at all, therefore it could all work terribly. Some inspiration hopefully though.

P.S. Sorry for the slight hi-jack :look:

It's OK.

This design looks good, but i'm afreid, that it wont hold the load, it will breake in the midlle or somewhere else. Those parts will slip off each other.

And look what i have done with smaller version

Steering right ...

... and left

to be continued and ended ...

Yeah I kn ow that design won't work, especially with the brakes an gearbox. I just thought it might be quite useful.

I like the progress, and that hub-centred steering is really nice on such as small model.

It think, i've finished with small sidecar

I desided not to build exact body, because i came to conclusion (maybe wrong), that on this size of wheels it is almost impossible to make goog looging body. To make good looking body, bigger wheels are needed, something of this size

IMG_2120%2B%28800x383%29.jpg

but again, those are not wide enough.

Motocross sidecar

Started from front fork

IMG_2205.JPG

Made pretty close to original, but, because of two hard shock absorbers, they practically don't work, forn fork just bends

Some start of frame and rear fork, which I shortened later.

IMG_2219.JPG

Main frame almost copleted

IMG_2222.JPG

Cooling and exhaust

IMG_2239.JPG

IMG_2240.JPG

Closer look at engine with carburator (or SLT) and filter

IMG_2242.JPG

And then I forgot to take some pictures form procees, thats why theres first (maybe also last) days result

IMG_2237.JPG

IMG_2236.JPG

IMG_2243.JPG

IMG_2244.JPG

It would be nice to have some smaller, narrow wheel for sidecar, but i don't have one, and maybe theres also nothig like that form Lego.
