The nectar of the Sarlacc and the escape of Boba Fett

Complete overview of the MOC. (Sarlacc's Nectar by Dan_Sto, on Flickr)

(Pictures are link to large images).

One week ago, the youngest jawas of the crew exploiting the distillery has started to work into the unit production. Like the two other members of the crew, he belongs to Tteet Kkak's (his father) clan who sold the Rancor to Jabba. During his whole life, he will ever remember the slow going down from the sandcrawler into the distillery, using the hatch into the sand near the great pit of Carkoon, allowing to discover the marvelous concrete vault covering the whole production unit.

After having reach the upper level with its metallic floor, he could discover the two other levels accompagned by the two other jawas who will working with him for the forthcoming weeks.

Upper level with a rest/kitchen/lunch section and the bottles and barrels stock.

At the lower level is the large basin where the disgestive juice of the Sarlacc is collected and filtered before being injected into the distillation still of the middle level in order to produce the nectar from the juice's neurotoxine.

Indeed, it is here, at a few meters appart from the Sarlacc and in the greatest secret, that one of the magnificent drink of the universe is produced. It has even been served on Coruscant to the well known Obi-Wan Kenobi Jedi master where it is called "Jawa juice". On Tatooine, it is called the "Nectar of the Sarlacc".

The story of the discovery of the caves and of the oozing wound into one of the stomach of the Sarlacc by a forefather of our young jawa has nearly been forgotten and is only related by the shaman of the clan. It seems that a metallic part buried deep into the sand injured the Sarlacc during its growth and has done a small hole into one of its upper stomaches. The acid digestive juice oozing from the wound during a long period has dug a tunnel up to a large cave which had a crack going to the surface. This crack, which has been discovered by the forefather, is todays used as emergency exit.

The recipe of the segregation of the juice in order to get the nectar, the most important secret of the clan, has been improved over generations of jawas and has now reach its excellence level. Each nectar botlle is extremely valued and the nectar is at the origin of the prosperity of the clan.

Working into the distillery is like an initiatory path for young jawas. Indeed, living during weeks with the legendary Sarlacc being so near and feeling it; alters definitively the perception of the animal when the initial fear becomes respect.

During a rest period of our young jawa, an unsual event occured at the surface.

16538415106_f79b99f7b5_c.jpg

Our young jawa studying chemistry.

Some small explosions followed by a final loud one could be heared during several seconds. Such kind of trouble is not really surprising because Jabba used to proceed to public executions by drowing people into the mouth of the Sarlacc for sufferiing centuries of slow digestion into its stomach. But, the good point was a higher digestive juice production by the Sarlacc.

A few hours latter, the new of the jabba's death into his barge explained what happened earlier.

Next day, another unwanted event occurs : for the first time, a victim of the Sarlacc could escape from the stomach by the wound used for recolting the juice.

16376843358_a7c24ff2b9_z.jpg

Seeming hopeless, Boba discovers a strange hose into the stomach.

16563395712_9ddd5d3931_z.jpg

Following the hose, Boba reached the wound and escaped from the Sarlacc.

The oldest jawa of the crew had the surprise to find an armored man having survived to the Sarlacc and lying into the basin of the digestive juice.

15944293653_c70220ebd5_z.jpg

Seriously ill, Boba reaches the tunnel leading to the basin.

16378243999_7fd3d93184_z.jpg

Surprise ! An armored man has polluted the juice.

The jawas decided to cure the man who was seriously physically and mentaly ill (he has even lost his hairs) first at the lower level and finally at the upper one.

16376837558_a08a9e43aa_z.jpg

The whole crew was needed to get the man out of the basin.

16562826381_df5bda9be2_z.jpg

The inspection of the armor revealed that the man is Boba Fett, the well known bounty hunter who worked for Jabba and famous for the capture of Han Solo.He is also known has being a man of honour.

Judging that having Boba as an ally would be a benefit for the clan, the leader of the clan decided to let him free after complete recovery with the condition that he will never reveal the secret of the distillery.

16568267841_302a8bd5ff_z.jpg

Last view into the distillery by Boba : Good bye, my little friends.

It is now one year ago that Jabba has been killed and our young jawa will pleasantly meet Boba again at the celebration of the first annual tribute to Jabba.

But, this is another story.

The MOC (or the DarkSide of the Sarlacc).

The MOC is based on 5 major modules making a tower based on a 32x32 baseplate and reaching a height of 70 cm. :

1. The lower level: .

I hope you enjoyed my version of Boba's escape from the Sarlacc.

This MOC has been done for the 13-th Star Wars contest of the TechLUG forum where you can found a more detailled french description.

Wow, that's an epic sized and detailed MOC. I love how fleshy and organic the stomach looks and all the detailed rocks, scenes, etc.

KUDOS!

Incredible. The whole thing is beyond words. I can't even begin to express how amazing this is and how detailed. The skeleton, the different levels of soil, the Sarlacc ... everything is just amazing.

Amazing! Just one thing do you plan to make the whole top section of the Sarlacc? If you could do that I think it would be beyond epic. Maybe as a feature which can be added on to this section.

Aww, we were so close to be able to savor some Boba Fett nectar...

That's really great, so detailed, and so funny. Awesome job!

Boba lives! I'd been sad about his death for thirty years.

Great MOC and a great story-

Simply amazing! I love this MOC. So much detail, so much though and planning must have gone into it. I love the different techniques, like the floor with the 1x1 cylinders. And the SNOT used for the stomach, wow! The colors, the layout, everything. I just keep looking through the pics over and over. Well done!

What a huge block of earth :D Very funny and brilliantly executed. Yet the main observation is the size... wow :)

There are literally no words to describe this model. Every piece of it must have been meticulously thought out, for at least a week. The story itself is extremely well though out, not to mention fitting perfectly together. The action scenes look fantastic, and I get a real sense that Boba is more than just a cold blooded killer. Is this story canon? If it's not, it's definately worth being in the canon. Overall, just a mind blowing MOC. Fantastic job!

Thank you for your enthusiastic answers  .

I think not. This MOC has been done mainly for supporting a story. Another point, it has been done for a contest with a base limitation of 32x32.

Aww, we were so close to be able to savor some Boba Fett nectar...

Of course, the nectar produced during this period is "the Boba's cuvée" .

Thank you. For the lower floor, I do not use 1x1 cylinders but this technique :

I love this moc! Any idea how many parts you used?

No, but I have a good stock (it was hot for the brown/reddish brown one).

Thanks. The story is not canon but comes from my brain. You know, I was a teenager when the first movies came out and Star Wars has always stimulated my imagination.

The inside of the Sarlacc feels so organic I shudder when I look at it! Makes me feel like I'm the one being digested!

This may sound terrible, but it's actually praise: your Sarlacc almost made me throw up. I'm not kidding. I'm NOT one to go around getting sick. I still have a hard time going through some of the pics (I saw your post yesterday, and only today I found the energy to come and praise your MOC -- and believe me, I'm skipping the pics!)

Very nice build, great background, cool MOC. Impressive!

Amazing work. This has just everything: Details, Story, Creativity, Humor.

And it looks heavy! Did you weigh it yet?
