winbrant Posted February 23, 2015 Sticker error? Length is 8.99m? Look a tad long as Wookiepedia calls it closer to 6.4m. The X-Wing is 12.5m and figured the TIE was only half the length.
Gremer Posted February 23, 2015 Looking at it more, I kinda like it. Yes, it looks dull. Yes, it will be a boring build. But there's something about it that I really like. Maybe it's the simplistic shape, or the fact I don't have a TIE yet.
Kristof Posted February 24, 2015 it's 929,99 PLN in Polish LEGO store... 30 PLN more expensive than Slave I . Wow. Any Idea why is that? Generally... I really don't get lego pricing policy they are taking for last years.
kr-lik Posted February 24, 2015 Wow. Any Idea why is that? Generally... I really don't get lego pricing policy they are taking for last years. why 30 PLN more expensive ? no idea. Actually it costs the same as the UCS X-WING so it seems that the Slave I has a "lower" price.
BrickSev Posted February 24, 2015 why 30 PLN more expensive ? no idea. Actually it costs the same as the UCS X-WING so it seems that the Slave I has a "lower" price. Considered the higher number of pieces and Minifigures in my opinion the Slave I would be a better choice. It's not that I don't like the UCS Tie Fighter but since I don't have unlimited resources for my Lego hobby I think there are other sets more "worthy" than this one
Inzane Posted February 24, 2015 why 30 PLN more expensive ? no idea. Actually it costs the same as the UCS X-WING so it seems that the Slave I has a "lower" price. In Canada the UCS X-Wing is $250, and yet Slave 1 is $230 and the new TIE is expected to be $230 as well. Both the TIE and especially the Slave 1 have a higher piece count than the X-wing as well. That is part of the reason I haven't picked up the rehashed X-wing yet. Price, plus I own the original.
SergeyTropin Posted February 24, 2015 1685 pieces and only one minifig :(
Inzane Posted February 24, 2015 1685 pieces and only one minifig :( UCS sets shouldn't have any minifigs, so be thankful you get one. ;-P
BrickSev Posted February 24, 2015 UCS sets shouldn't have any minifigs, so be thankful you get one. ;-P It has been ages since UCS sets come without Minifigures. Slave I has 4, Sandcrawler has 7, the Millennium Falcon came with 5, etc. So the "complain" is legit
ummester Posted February 25, 2015 Sandcrawler has 7 Sandcrawler has 12 or something - they represent almost half of the value of the parts in the box.
BrickSev Posted February 25, 2015 Sandcrawler has 12 or something - they represent almost half of the value of the parts in the box. I didn't considered the droids Minifigures since there is always a debate on them. Many persons claim they are not Minfigures etc, so I tried to not fuel the debate lol Anyway, the point was: It's common for UCS to have more than a single Minifigure
incognito Posted February 25, 2015 Anyway, the point was: It's common for UCS to have more than a single Minifigure The X-Wing and the B-Wing didn't have any. (1 for the X-Wing if you count R2) So there is not really a pattern here.
BrickSev Posted February 25, 2015 The X-Wing and the B-Wing didn't have any. (1 for the X-Wing if you count R2) So there is not really a pattern here. The exceptions do confirm the pattern Anyway mine was a reply to who said UCS sets shouldn't have any Minfigure. Most of them have Minfigures so when it comes to UCS Tie fighter this another thing we must consider, alongside the number of pieces and its price
neoconagenda Posted February 28, 2015 This is a total let down for me. I am sorry to anyone that is in love with this but for me it is a nightmare simply because it is so different from the other ties. Some of it (while beter than anything I could build) looks like a 10 year old designed it. I was holding out on starting Anio's MOC but now the choice is easy... rollermonkey Posted February 28, 2015 Started working on this tonight: WIP LEGO 75095 UCS TIE cockpit modification by SPARKART!, on Flickr. Wow. THAT is what the center part of this set should have looked like... Are the large 1/-rounds available in that light bley? If so, I hope you make instructions!
sparkart Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) Those donut-like quarters aren't available in light bley, but they are available in flat silver, which, under the right light, suggests light bley...AND dark bley! Weird, huh? What color is this dress? by SPARKART!, on Flickr. There will be something in another topic...instructions or build/breakdown photos, that should help anyone who want to modify the TIE into something less pixelated and more anti-aliased. But back on topic, I'm really looking forward to this model. Especially the printed pieces. Edited March 1, 2015 by sparkart
droid747 Posted March 10, 2015 I know some don't like the look of this tie but watching a lego video of it today really made it to start growing on me and I am really liking it now and think I will buy it. I had some star wars legos back when they first released but thinking of getting back into it and collect the ucs series. I think I am gonna get a slave 1 and then this tie in May. I might also build anios ucs venator. I am really kicking my self for not buying a bunch of the ucs star destroyers when lego had them clearance out on their website for $100 apiece. I could have made a killing if I had bought like 10 of them.
hanchueh Posted April 4, 2015 Does this have the same scale as the UCS X-Wing? To be honest thought, even if the scale matches, I'll probably not buy this one. TIE fighters are supposed to be fodders and cheaper! I'll probably just buy a few 75082 and change out the wings.
H_Solo Posted April 4, 2015 I got a 20% off coupon for the Legoland store here in Germany... so I'll probably get it at some point for 160 Euro, which seems a pretty fair deal to me! (I might also get the Sandcrawler für 240 Euro... which is even better! )
Flieger Posted April 5, 2015 (edited) Is this TIE-Pilot exclusive? I hope not, because I would not want to spend 200 Euros just for the minifig. But the minifig looks great. It has arm printing and wonderful helmet printing representing this ANH pilot: ... and the Rebels' TIE pilots do not even get leg printing. Edited April 5, 2015 by Flieger
GuyDudeMan27 Posted April 5, 2015 It will most likely be exclusive, just like Boba, and be used as a selling point. I would love the fig, but the set is mediocre at best, and I'm not into UCS.
Flieger Posted April 5, 2015 Same here. I cannot bring myself to buy it, although I love TIE Fighters and TIE Pilots. But sets which are too large for minifigs are not my cup of tea, the model does not look terribly convincing, and 200 Euro is quite a bit of money. I am afraid the minifig will be expensive on Ebay and the likes... (so expensive that it is almost worth to get the TIE just for the parts).
Spyderlord Posted April 5, 2015 (edited) Well, I agree with most of the opinions expressed. 1) Put it at same price level as Slave I and The Tumbler (ToO, etc.)? LOL 2) Price/piece ratio? LOL 3) Blocky cockpit, the WIP TIE by sparkart is exactly how I imagined they would do an UCS, I cannot fathom why they chose this approach. 4) Scale, what the beep? Has there been any example in SW line where a vehicle was larger than minifigure scale?? I mean in large sets, not counting that silly AT-RT? I love TIEs, and I believe there's no worse judgement on this set than saying I would rather shell out 200€ when aftermarket prices hit that level on 9492 than on this thing... I would get a to-scale set (+/-), an imperial officer and less blocky cockpit. Someone said they foresee a 50% clearance on this one after a year, I'd disagree. I foresee an EOL in a year time and 50% clearance next Christmas. I am a strategy analyst and would seriously never understand TLG's sales strategy. "We have an X-Wing, now all AFOLs will want an UCS TIE Fighter and we can price it at the same level". No guys, not how it works, AFOLs are not AFOOLS. Some market research would spill you things like AT-AT, new MF UCS and so on... But hey, just send us another classical AFOL survey and analyze it through pink glasses. Again. Regimus Posted April 5, 2015 (edited) Has there been any example in SW line where a vehicle was larger than minifigure scale?? I mean in large sets, not counting that silly AT-RT? 10227 B-Wing 10240 X-Wing 10134 Y-Wing 10215 - Jedi Starfighter 10175 - TIE advanced The list goes on including many one man fighters/speeders in system and UCS size Edited April 5, 2015 by Regimus
Spyderlord Posted April 5, 2015 Wow, thanks Regimus! Funnny that these are exactly the UCSs I was never (ok, I'l admit a small sin, except 10175) attracted to!
