That mixup of Orc parts looks great!

Thanks ☺️

In case anyone was wondering, the three weapons and the shield on the left are third party pieces, not LEGO.

Yeah brick warriors has some nice stuff.  I like the paladin sword, some of the helms are nice.  The elven sword and dragon sword are also good additions to any army.

Found another three archers and orc's at Wal*Mart today. I scanned the bag with the Wal*Mart app and still no match.

The bags were located in the LEGO isle.

I recently realized that besides being a great companion to the black falcons, the new falcon piece also feels kind of like a modern counterpart to the black or grey parrot pieces that appeared in a lot of 90s Castle sets!

There are a few cases (even in the Castle theme) where that piece might have believably been meant to represent an actual grey parrot — namely, sets where it accompanies Majisto, since a wizard is the sort of wise and well-traveled individual who might be expected to own an exotic pet from distant Africa. But whenever that piece appeared in a Wolfpack or Black Knights set, I always understood it as a stand-in for native European bird species like crows, ravens, owls, vultures, or falcons.

That’s how I interpreted things too. This new Falcon is pretty great.

Everyone is praising this new Orc, but I find it really disappointing that they went with olive green instead of sand green. I already have lots of the trolls from the old Fantasy theme that this guy is an iteration of. But other than the new shield, they don't merge well at all in my opinion.

The Black Falcon looks amazing, though! But I was sad to see that they did the absolutely awful printed cape, just like the CMF Viking.

I fully agree with you. That fig still is my favourite CMF minifig ever because of the falcon, extravagant cloth caps and nice and versatile hip/leg part, but I was very disappointed by the printed cape.

I agree, I have a dozen or so Orc's and I am not sure why.

While I can appreciate how a direct match to Fantasy Era trolls would be fun, the fact that this new Orc doesn’t match a 15 year old theme faction 100% shouldn’t keep it from being a great minifig in its own right.

I actually don't mind it at all as it gives my troll army some variety and actually there would be slight variations in color in a real world application.  I do agree on the printed cape thing but that can be easily covered up with other capes or armor.

Agree and like I said gives the army more variation.  Just look at the orcs in LOTR there are variations in their coloring and size, armor, etc.

Even the Fantasy Era giant trolls came in Sand Yellow/Dark Tan, so there is precedent for having them in different colors. But I guess if you're someone who feels that Olive Green in particular clashes visually with Sand Green that's not much consolation.

I think this orc color matches a lot better with warcraft/warhammer orcs, something LEGO would Never make.

Yeah the big figs were different colors.  The minifigs only came in one color.  As for the olive green and sand green thing if you think they clash to much just make them a different tribe or clan of trolls and problem solved.

Yeah I was thinking that mouthpiece part just screams WOW orcs.  I mean lego does have a license with blizzard so you never know.  But I doubt they would do WOW.

I'm treating them as a slightly different species/race from a different region, being closely related with some features that set them apart. The olive green/yellow eyed orcs are from the plains, while the sand green/red eyed trolls are from a more mountainous woodland area. They will be allying with each other and the goblins and forming a sort of "horde".

I think the time for that has been and gone, unfortunately. There are other fantasy IPs that are more popular right now, and given the state of the Overwatch 2 sets a year later I don't see it happening maybe ever.

Promobricks released the list of the next Disney CMF, and many of them sound interesting: Tiana, the Queen of Hearts, Aurora (with owl), Pocahontas and the Evil Queen - and maybe even Pinocchio, Robin Hood and Prince John may include minifig parts reuseable in any fantasy setting!

Given my current storyline in the Guilds of Historica, I certainly have high hopes of the Evil Queen, the classiest Disney Villain ever. :excited:

I guess the Robin Hood and Prince John might be useful, depending on how much animal fur they have on them. I find the Disney charaare a bit too cartoonish. I had a lot of hope for Hercules as a Greek soldier army builder but they didn't look right.

Yeah I wonder if we’ll get a forestmen hat in a new color for Robin.

Robin and Louie will most likely have specialised hat+head pieces

Yeah I figure. Just hoping for something more useful.

I doubt it. The other Disney animal characters have tended to be quite accurate but not traditional LEGO style.

I seem to be the only person who likes the cape. Reminds me a bit of the old school 80s one.

I think he was talking about the prints on the minifigure torso.
