[MOC] Spanish (custom) ship "El Principito"

Hello once more,

I've been busily building stuff in October, so here is another MOC - and once again the ship is pretty small.

I have called it "El Principito" (The Little Prince) :pir-sweet: :pir-sweet: :pir-sweet:

I wanted to build a ship that is not based on a usual hull.

Having started in white, it soon became obvious that it had to be a Spanish ship (following the example of the "Armada Flagship" in the old days).

Also, the galion was hinting in this direction. Spanish!!!

Captain Eduardo is quite happy with his ship and his crew of conquistadors:

:pir-look:

The ship is not too heavily armed... :pir-sceptic:

Here it is sailing away...

.. but there is one strange guy on board - maybe he is the real captain:

:monkey: :monkey: :monkey:

I am quite happy with the result (although the model has a tendency to topple...)

A storyline regarding the adventures of the Spanish crew of the "El Principito" is in preparation.

I hopy you like the MOC - I am waiting for feedback.

Hi Captain,

let me ketch up on some commenting...

First thing to mention: Yes! Monkey's back!!

Now, rather unusual to use such small pieces for a hull... but not bad, your ships looks rather fast that way, but could use a second sail. Kudos on the color scheme, nice Armada-esque design! Do they ever not have to deal with nutshells? pirate_laugh2.gif Oh, and I much like your 'pool', wish I could replicate that in LDD...

Just... that figure head's torso... is that some sort of devilish china-brand brick?

Can't wait for that storyline!

Thanks for posting, especially in these 'dry' times!

Regards,

KB

The figurehead is the old type torso and it's very much LEGO.

Nice little ship, but where's the helm? :-)

Nice 6-wide ship.

but where's the helm? :-)

I think the monkey is the helmsman. Banana is connected to the rudder?

Thanks for commenting.

Initially I was a bit shocked to not see any replies for some 27 hours, despite having posted on the weekend. pirate_cry4.gif

:damn:

No, this is LEGO. That's the torso my policemen had in the 70s! (My grandfather had given me the police station as a birthday gift pirate_blush.gif )

(dry times - yes ... pirate_sad2.gif )

The figurehead is the old type torso and it's very much LEGO.

Thanks, Dreamweb, for identifying the "old type torso" pirate_laugh2.gif

The helm .... the helm ..... the helm????

It just wouldn't fit anywhere (or at least it would not be visible from the outside). I just imagine it is there. pir_laugh2.gif

You got it!

Very nice water :) I really like the trans-clear forming the wave.

Well spotted. I like this too. pirate_satisfied.gif

Hehe, please excuse my ignorance... I had just recently seen this kind of torso in some China-set... but still, huge shame on me!

And about late posting... well, let's say I'm not the youngest anymore... getting online takes me some time pirate_wink.gif

Hello Captn,

I would use your ship as a coast patrol gun ship.I like thatr you used the green color as in the Armada Flagship. That gives the ship a classic look.

I did not mean to blame all of you brave commenters! Sorry, if it came across this way. pir_wacko.gif

I wanted to state that there has been more interaction and feedback in the past months.

Thanks.

That was my cunning plan pirate_laugh2.gif

To which set do those hullparts belong to??

I have used something called "Cockpit 10 x 6 x 2 Curved " twice.

It can be found in many sets, e.g. "T-6 Jedi Shuttle" and others.

It does remind me of the Armada Flagship,

Interesting hull, would be very suited for an Asian ship type, like a Junk (not junk, a junk pirate_laugh2.gif ).

But it looks great on this one too, I think I'm going to try some small hull ships too in the near future,

keep em coming pirate_classic.gif .

Oh how cute, and the stormy ocean water is nice.

How many of these small round bricks do you need to get that all filled?

I think a nice colorful sea monster would add the final touch :dblush:
