OHHHHH.

i only just noticed that the new 2x3 L beam has a stupid support band on it,   kinda like 3x3 l beam thin with support.

WHY!!!!!! and it has an axle hole which is not as bad but still!!.

The support is so it can match the curved panels.

Then use a system curved slope! with some technic bricks added on

OR use part 48177!

I guess it's supposed to be usable as panel extender, like a 1L slice of 85x85p

EDIT: ah this was already said on new page which I didn't see :ugh:

It is a very nice addition in my opinion. You are no more limited to 7 or 11 L curved panels

My thoughts too. I can see its usefulness as a panel extender but we're also in need of more L-shaped liftarms beside the current 2x4 and 3x5 (and if you count thin ones, 3x3) and the support destroys its usefulness in many structural applications. 3x4 would've been even better but still...

But this way this part is more usable, as it is made.

More usable as a decorative part, less usable as a structural part.

I wouldn't say so... I still remember some failed ideas of very compact chassis where this part was literal salvation. MOCs will show the future of this part)

But You can see, that it is already used as structural element.

it still has uses as a structural or mechanical element but its usefulness is reduced because you cant put more beams for example where the support band is like you can with a 3x3 T liftarm.

Has anyone ever had/seen a good use for part 48724 in a Technic build?

85x85p.jpg

I don't have that part, but I have occasionally used the studded version in tight spaces in bodywork, and sometimes I suppose that pinned one would be better.

In the 2021 X-Wing set there is a new 1x1 Technic brick with axle hole instead of a pin hole. It appears in Light Bluish Gray.

Cool!

Lots of new stuff indeed. I updated my panel listing (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MdCtQMN_kaaMzyWy_blFLJNzT05f4dCxXS1Nx3DhfDU/edit?usp=sharing) partially but going to wait for Bricklink entries for the new moulds.

I'm wondering about the quoted parts, are those really light turquoise as in Medium Bluish Green in TLG colour names? That colour hasn't appeared since 2003 at all according to Ryan Howerter's colour guide so I'm just making sure before I create a new colour entry.

oops I typed Light Turquoise by mistake. fixed.

Does anyone know if the technic airplane thingy is Orange and White with Dark turquoise or Orange and White with Medium Azure?
