Reminds Me of a Song...

Recommended Posts

As Gex rode away from South Sandstuck, his mind wandered, and he recalled the long ago day he met his wife, who at the time had been about the same age as Lady Sharitah was now. He had been traveling through the thickest part of the Wither Woods, very close to the Avalonian border, when he stumbled into a shady glade in the trees, in front of a crumbling old wall, and by a babbling brook stood the most captivating woman he'd ever seen. It was like a scene in a beautiful song. He was instantly in love.

This MOC actually is a scene from a song. I was inspired to build this today after hearing a favorite old song on the radio, which I cranked up to 11! Can anyone guess the song?

The babbling brook:

I'd like to get UoP credits for:

  • flowing water
  • walls
  • tree design #2
  • maybe landscaping / foliage? (is it big enough?)

Love the first photo with it focusing just on her. The babbling brook is also good, as well is the foliage. No idea of the song though.

Gnarly wall NM, love it. Very nice bucolic scene, UoP+1 all claims.

The song is "I used to love her" by guns 'n' roses

Nope.

I should direct your attention away from the love theme, although not away from the woman, and more towards the details of the scene. Gex and his relationship to the woman are not part of the song.

NIce build, it looks like you used FP here in that first picture, and it looks cool. I like that tree too.

Oh, and I'm guessing the song is "Hotel California".

Ok, JK. Is it a U2 song?...

Nice job getting so much detail in such a small space! Stumped on the song, though I support Everything Is Awesome.

Well, Gex may be showing how old he is... I'll drop a few hints: the key points are that the MOC has a wall with a sign, and a brook with a tree next to it, and a parrot songbird.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! Here's the verse:

There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure

'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.

In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings,

Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.

There's probably four or five MOCs worth of material in that song.

What a great many details in such a little build! Great work there

About the song - Lucky me! I got here after the chance of humiliating myself had passed!

Very nice vignette, the forced perspective is very good, and it's nice to see some innovation the the flowing water and tree. +1 UoP DoH for all claims
