Jofs Take on Belville Space

Recommended Posts

OK, I was inspired by someones comment on the dodgy Belville space creation posted a while ago. Particularly the Barbarella references.

Did you know that the craft posted was belville 'child' size, not belville 'adult'. So I dutifully raided my daughters sets for a couple of people and here is the result.

OK, its a bit stubby & somewhat constrained by my collection of clear 'window' pieces, hence the shot with the front section removed

Than a view from the back with loading ramp up and down. Also notice the sides open for my kids to play with them.

What do you think of my results of my 'had to be done' challenge?

Is anyone else brave enough to build something on the same scale (or admit access to belville figures)

Very nice and fresh.... *y*

Hmm, maybe I should just try to convert one of my

AquaRaider Subs to fit with my 5960 Mermaid Castle?

If I just had the time that is.... 8-|

Nice moc *y*

Well my daughter has been playing with it & turned it into a sort of belville space espace.

I have had to raise the roof on the back section by 1 brick in order to ensure sufficient headroom to seat the people & allow for fingers to get in & position them.

(And there was me thinking I would be asked to make it longer, no higher - just goes to show what us adults know doesn't it)

Nice! *y* I wonder what the Belville folk will say when they find little people flying around battling tiny green jelly-like creatures. :-P

I think I like building on this scale: Big ships, allowing more detail without the problem of how to do multiple decks on a minifig scale.

I now have a mark 2 in production. Bigger & with a better cockpit, (Although canopy fixing is a bit of a compromise to allow kids to play rather than be airtight)

However, I am not quite happy with the landing gear, its now too feeble to cope with the size of craft, maybe I should just remove it.

Will post a picture later.

Ok, here we go. Pictures of the "extendend spaceframe Mk2 Belville Family space cruiser".

Now that brickshelf is back up, I have some pictures:

And here are some links to a bit more detail:

Now I have posted the pictures, I return it to the kids for modification & play.

Maybe I will try some more models in the theme later.

Nice use of the compact discs *y*

Is the little minifig no part of the crew?

And is he maybe in love with the Belville Space Princess? :-D

I am glad you like the CD's. I think they are quite good decorative pieces.

I use them quite a bit as engine outlets on smaller scale models.

The minifig is there for scale. Maybe he is a genetically engineered companion creature.

These ship designs are great but these guys dont look suited for space travel. I guess you cant do much about that anyway. keep up the good work.

I always love it when mocers get ahold of Bellville figures. Hilarity ensues.

Though truthfully... it makes me wish Lego would design us some large figures similar to Technic guys, but as useful / customizable / take-apartable as minifigs.

Darn it.

I love this ship. It's not perfect, but it serves it's purpose well. :D
