[SoNE Freebuild] First day on the Avenger....

Recommended Posts

Well, I got to eager to wait for a reply in the Intro/Discussion topic. I hope this is eligible for xp, even though its not really related to an episode. It's more of a mini story about (SW universe) Beltar (duh), when he is first aboard the Avenger after the passing the Imperial Academy.

100_x_100_img_4304.jpg Admiral: Well, here's a mini search database area thing, they don't tell me enough about tech. As you can see, you can search planets, etc.

100_x_100_img_4303.jpg Beltar: Yeah, think I saw one of these at the beginning of the tour. Also, nice to see you. Last time we talked was... 5-6 Years ago?

100_x_100_img_4304.jpg Admiral: Yeah.. Well I am older than you. When I graduated the Accademy, you where fresh outta the University. And Haha, I knew you have probably seen this piece of tech.

100_x_100_img_4304.jpg_thumb.jpgAdmiral: It's probably best to let them through.

100_x_100_img_4303.jpgBeltar: Let's see if we can continue now. (Music/Humming in backround) Another interruption?

100_x_100_img_4305.jpgGus: Oh, Howdy yall! My names Gus. Usually I just am a speepin these floors. Last time I was in infantry under commander Arlon... But I gets the demotion. Ye.

100_x_100_img_4304.jpgAdmiral: Ok there Gus......?

100_x_100_img_4303.jpgBeltar: Uhh, Gus, looks like you have an astromech that needs to get to an award ceremony behind you, better get moving.

100_x_100_img_4303.jpg_thumb.jpgBeltar: Hmm... Very eventful part of the tour.

100_x_100_img_4304.jpg_thumb.jpgAdmiral I agree. Usually it isn't this busy....

I also realized I'm not indexed yet so that may be another factor.

Greetings, Beltar!

Don't worry about not being indexed. The index is only updated every couple of months, because the guy who's responsible for that, Brickdoctor, is very busy and very good at procrastinating. This freebuild will be judged when the group of freebuilds of which it is a part (the group posted after the deadline for Episode VI but before the launch of Episode VII) is judged. That could take a while, so don't worry if you don't get a score for a very long time.

And freebuilds, by their very nature, don't need to be associated with an episode. A freebuild is eligible to be scored if you ask for it to be scored and if it is sufficiently within canon as defined in the core rules. As far as I can detect, this freebuild meets both qualifications, so it'll be judged eventually and you'll get points for it.

I like the display and control panel. The wall looks a little complicated and busy for an Imperial ship, though. I don't recall if updates to freebuilds are allowed, but in any case you might try breaking up long walls with angled supports (for example, 1x2x3 slope bricks and/or 1x2x3 inverted slopes) or a wall pattern like you see in the Death Star. Otherwise, it looks pretty good. Welcome aboard!

Thanks! I was originally going for that look, but well, couldn't find enough of those slopes. (due to somewhat sorted parts. ) But recently (like a couple days ago) I did some sorting to prepare and found a good amount. So next time I'll have a more Death Star design on the walls. When I get more of those, I will probably redo it, but for now I'm going to save them.

Sorry for the delay in scoring, but we are still recovering from Ep6. I like your build and the way you introduce so many characters so smoothly. My only critique would be that there are too many officers who haven't shaved. I guess their admiral is setting the bad example
