sam89 Posted July 2, 2007 Author Posted July 2, 2007 DJSaulTNutz, does the Tie dropship have solar panels? Is it just like the pictured triple-hull Tie? Should I know this already? It's not, it's a completely made-up vehicle ;-) Quote
Vader Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 If the hoth set comes with just 2 snowies and 2 rebels ill be very happy, i dont care for any extras just give me those darn snowies!!! X-D Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 (edited) It's not, it's a completely made-up vehicle ;-) The more unknown, the better! I hope it's a swooshable 1-piece ship that doesen't break into smaller chunks. Lol, I think the Hoth bp will satisfy anyone's Hoth needs. Soo, Myer stores are only in Australia, eh? Any way to access the catalogue online other than the website? I looked there and I saw a toy catalogue, but it had everything I wasn't looking for. Perhaps it is elsewhere? There is a good chance that this battle pack will be rebel or empire only, and as for the minifigs i would be very suprised if it contains the same minifigs as the hoth base. If it did then TLC are smart enough to know that this would damage sales of the larger set! Quote

That's probably because whoever saw it saw a Hoth background, so they called it that. If the set itself is called Hoth battle pack, it probably will have both factions. Otherwise, I can see a Snowie or a Rebel one. The sides are at odds; we need a Snowie pack because we haven't had one for a while, but we also need a rebel pack because a trench would be perfect. I personally think the Snowies will hold the day. Quote
Boonetrooper Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Question. Is Anakin's Green star-fighter thr normal one, interceptor, or thet crappy EU one with massive jet engines? Quote
Sir von Lego Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 If it did then TLC are smart enough to know that this would damage sales of the larger set! Hi, did you notice that the box art of the 7665 and 7666 (Republic Cruiser AND Hoth Rebel Base) both say: Limited Edition? I think both sets will be limited produced as well as TLC did it with the 7283 set, exclusiv for Target? So it will be sold out next january and everyone really WANTS snowies and rebels...(-; greetings Hendrik Quote
The Kid Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 That could make sense. Perhaps that's why there's no extremely exclusive figs in the Hoth Base... (albeit the RC figs are all new :-/ :-P). TK Quote

Both the hoth set and the republic criuser will be out at the same time as the battle pack, you can count on that. The last battle packs started to show up before christmas! The hoth base and the battle pack will be made to be sold at the same time, with the new AT-AT as well :-) . Quote
Sir von Lego Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Hey, I don't think that they will be sold at the same time. The sets 7665 and 7666 will be released in september, the AT-AT in october-november, and I don't believe that 2008 means for you that the sets will be available in september...they should be available in december, not earlier. And I think that the 7665 and 7666 will be sold out very quickly because these sets both are really new sets, the 6212 was only a rererererelease of an x-wing fighter. But we can only speculate, no one knows it for sure...(-; I am really looking forward to get some copies of all the SW sets 2007, and don't think too much about 2008 (my purse doesn't allow that).. greetings Hendrik PS: Does anyone want to sell darth vader and stormtrooper maquettes? The first point i made was that the sets would be AVAILABLE at the same time. I did not say they would be released at the same time. Your second point you kind of blow out of the water yourself. As you said the x-wing was just a re-release of a old set, do you really think they would waste the time and investment of 2 new large sets only to stop selling them by christmas *wacko* . Quote

If it did then TLC are smart enough to know that this would damage sales of the larger set! Well TLC and logic are two different things you know :-P I think its weird to release a MF pack with ONLY regular stormies *wacko* I really love it because I need a lot more off course, but 4 time the same fig ? How inventive !! Now regarding that Hoth BP, I wouldn't be surprised if we got the same figs !! Snowies were always the fig that a lot of AFOLs want and they only released them in 2 expensive sets (AT-AT & Falcon) and a lot of AFOLs were really asking for snowies I reckon !! Putting only one faction is acceptable when different MFs are used: 2 kind of droids in one, and 4 different clones in the other one. However, regarding those new BP, it seems to have the same fig, so thats why I would imagine that TLC would include 2 factions !! To have a lot more playability !! Furthermore, I don't think it would damage sales at all because of all these elements: * Since the Hoth Base is an exclusive set, it will probably disappear quite rapidly from stores therefore, you wouldn't have both sets sitting together on the same shelf * Assuming both are on sale at the same time, I wouldn't see a problem at all: the Hoth Base is rather expensive and will be TRU only whereas the Hoth BP is like 9.90$ and will be widely spread Anyhow, after waiting that amount of time for morte Hoth sets, I am happy and I really want to know badly the content of that set :-P did you notice that the box art of the 7665 and 7666 (Republic Cruiser AND Hoth Rebel Base) both say: Limited Edition? I think both sets will be limited produced as well as TLC did it with the 7283 set, exclusiv for Target? So it will be sold out next january and everyone really WANTS snowies and rebels...(-; greetings Hendrik, those are TRU exclusive sets ;-) I said that several times before but its fun to notice thats those exclusive sets do not have that "limited" mention on the box art here in France. And you can still find the "limited" Xwing 6212 X-D *yoda* Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Hmmm, either they see logic(for once) and make a Rebel Hoth bp this line-up, and make a Rebel Fleet Trooper Dropship(I only say Fleet Trooper because they are the equivalent of the basic stormie) and a Hoth Snowie bp the next line up, or they see a different form of logic and make 2 stormie bps this '08 line up, and 2 rebel bps next line up. Or they can be utterly discreet and not tell anyone anything. Quote
DJSaulTNutz Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 From what I have seen, the wheels on the Hailfire droid have the technic chain links on them, moulded in brown like this: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=3711 I cannot tell if the wheels rotate, but there is a good chance they do since they are a technic configuration. Also: There are still one or two direct to consumer exclusives planned, like a Target or Toys R Us (though we know what TRU's is...) similar to the 7283 offering. This means that TLC still have a surprise or two for 2008. What is not a surprise is that those exclusives will not be EU. So something from one trilogy or the other. Rather than speculate, I will report back when these exclusives are firmed up. Finally, a quick comment to ammend my earlier notes. You may have already concluded this on your own, but the first half of 2008 will tie in the Force Unleased video game. Specifically the Anakin fighter and Rogue Shadow fighter. This is the reason the Anakin fighter isn't something we have seen before...as it is the videogame version. It is indeed a version that has predominantly gray and yellow pieces, and is the Ep. 2 style. Be excited for EU minifigs though....they look awesome! Personally, I kinda liked the blue and white zagged version of Anakin's CW fighter!!! :-) Ah well, leave it to the MOCs. DJ Quote
CopMike Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Thanks again DJSaulTNutz - sounds "worth waiting for" X-D! Exclusives On copmike Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Well I'll be! That IS worth waiting for! And the Hailfire wheels look like a smaller version of the Tie Crawler treads. Great news! Btw, a query to DJ: Can you buy the catalogue? Or can you access it online? Quote
xwingyoda Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Another tks for these awsome clarifications DJ ;-) OK so Anie's fighter is a new FU one !! sounds great but isn't he already *vader* in FU ?? Oh well, a new ship is always something to look for !! Regarding the Hailfire, I can't wait to see the version since I was sure they would have done some Exo Force plastic wheels, but Technics links are far better !! Other exclusives !! Ohhhhhhhh me like the sound of that 8- Quote

You know your really getting me excited with all this talk about the new figs, ever since i first saw the designs for the apprentice and damaged vader ive thought how cool it would be if lego made them. Can you describe what kind of damage the vader fig has? Quote
WookieeWarrior Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 I thought DJSaulTNutz said earlier that the yellow starfighter for Anakin was from the new Clone Wars animated series. It would make sense because he's still Anakin and the ship would be one that he might fly between Ep II and III. Quote
