And of course buying multiples, especially if they are discounted.

It also depends on what you want to build.....if it's city buildings.....Creator, if it's city vehicles then the Great Vehicles range is the way to go.

I buy multiples of modular buildings in order to build larger versions. It may not be as cost effective as brick linking the exact parts that I need but, being relatively new to lego, it has allowed me to build up a large inventory of 'extra' bricks in a short amount of time.

Okay, so it's sci-fi stuff.......wrong topic area, you should ask this question in the sci-fi forum here on EB.

Though in saying that......almost any Lego can be sci-fi......it's up to your imagination.
