sm 01 Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Hello everyone, This is another creation that I made ββbefore joining Eurobricks, which I'd really like to share with you: Plan was to make relatively simple, light and fast car (it was before I bought RC motor). It is 37 studs long, 19 studs wide and 12 studs high and weighs 589 g. Two L motors are coupled and geared 5:1. Power is transmitted, without differential (my attempt to increase drifting capabilities) to the rear wheels only. Servo motor is for steering and everything is powerd by 8878 battery (easy accessible for charging). Working 4 cylinder boxer engine and serpentine belt part which drives fake fan. Doors can be opened. It also has: - working steering wheel (directly connected to second output of servo motor). - functional glove box and some other details in the interior. - fake fuel tank at the front, with filler cap that can be opened. - custom stickers, chromed details and a smile on the face of the person who drives it More photos can be found at: MOCpages - http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/384440 Flickr - https://www.flickr.c...57642862140243/ I hope you'll like itβ¦ Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Very, very nice (I see Bug's curves in it,). The tires could have been slimmer, but it is only little detail on perfect car. Quote
BusterHaus Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Fantastic job on the little details. Drifting looks like a blast. Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I saw this one on YT before EB. It is fantstic, great details! Have you ever tried to expand it to a "full" VW bug? Quote
anton1678 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) It reminds me of an F1 car, fast and agile. It even looks like one from certain angles Edited September 2, 2014 by anton1678 Quote
legomuppet9 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 It reminds me of an F1 car, fast and agile. It even looks like one from certain angles erm... this isn't really an F1 car... no offence... the body is like a Volkswagen beetle (people customised these into hotrod things), but yes it is fast and agile Great model, I think I too have seen it before, the hubs look great Quote
sm 01 Posted September 2, 2014 Author Posted September 2, 2014 Thank you all! I am very happy that you like it and sorry for the spam to those who have seen it before somewhere else. Very, very nice (I see Bug's curves in it,). The tires could have been slimmer, but it is only little detail on perfect car. I agree, slimmer wheels would be perfect! It would look and drift better and it would probably be lighter=faster. Unfortunately, I haven't had them when I built it. Does anybody knows, are there slimmer LEGO wheels with similar diameter (I used 56x28 mm tires)? I saw this one on YT before EB. It is fantstic, great details! Have you ever tried to expand it to a "full" VW bug? Yes, great question, I even made ββthe front mudguards but then I gave up on that idea to reduce weight. erm... this isn't really an F1 car... no offence... the body is like a Volkswagen beetle (people customised these into hotrod things), but yes it is fast and agile Great model, I think I too have seen it before, the hubs look great It was supposed to look like a Volkswagen Beetle without mudguards and to be as fast as possible. Thanks again to everyone for your comments, I really appreciate your feedback! Quote
