Mr Greeble Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I got a bad feeling that the 3rd wave will be the last. And this theme has so much potential. Yeah, it's too bad, this was my favorite theme to date... Quote
BrickSev Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I got a bad feeling that the 3rd wave will be the last. And this theme has so much potential. That would be terrible. I like UA theme. Are there rumors about the end of this theme? I can't believe it will suffer the same fate of Galaxy Squad. I hope we'll see more sets Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I can't believe it will suffer the same fate of Galaxy Squad. But Galaxy Squad only got 2 waves... But I agree, this theme has a lot of potential. Quote

I hope we'll see more sets I think because Antimatter is the big bad, and in Intel D it says his Hideout with the portal was his master plan, and in video Jack Fury says this the final battle, or the last hope to beat or something like that, people are assuming that it is the last wave. I really hope it's not as well. Maybe they could do something like Ninjago and have a different big bad? But honestly I don't see Lego doing anything like that unless Ultra Agents sets are selling extremely well. Quote

You know what I mean I too hoped in the same treatment Ninjago got Quote
8BrickMario Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I love UA, but I think the Ninjago treatment would be the worst thing for it, since it would wind up going on for far too long, and end up not being fresh anymore. It could get a fourth wave, but I'd be more than happy with three satisfying waves. Quote

Well actually the best possible treatment is the "Star Wars one" but I do realize it will be difficult for a theme like UA to get it Three waves is more than Galaxy Squad got so it's not completely bad Quote
BrickSev Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Solution: BUY A LOT OF SETS!!!! Define "a lot" lol One of each set, multiple of the same set. I guess I'm going to run out of space in my house. Too many cool sets Quote
Pulp Detective Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 (edited) Well few characters from UA appeared on the latest episodes of the Ninjago cartoon,I don't know if it's just a cameo or it's just confirming that both Ninjago and UA are shared worlds.Still if we get an UA cartoon like Ninjago it's safe to assume we'll get more sets. The two "worlds" are indeed connected. If I'm not mistaken Invizable (who is now a villain in the UA theme) first appeared in Ninjago (I don't remember if it was a video game or a cartoon episode). Also Ultra Agent theme seems connected with Galaxy Squad too. For example, it appears Solomon Blaze was a member of Galaxy Squad before joining UA ranks Quote

But honestly I don't see Lego doing anything like that unless Ultra Agents sets are selling extremely well. I too would like to see this theme continue. Truth is, it's fate has already been decided given Lego's product planning cycle. Usually, when the term "final battle" is used, that means the theme is coming to an end. And now that we have been the enemy base set and 2 HQ's for the agents, it leads me to believe that this is it for Ultra Agents. However, there are some wildcards that could give cause for optimism for the sets to continue. Lego has invested a lot of resources in the app portion of these sets and the new interactive bricks. Now, Ultra Agents may just be the test case for the integration of building and video games within a theme and they may take their learnings from this and port them to other new themes. But they may want to use the sunk costs of their work on this existing theme to try and get some more out of it. In that case, since the current plot line will be resolved with the summer sets, they can simply introduce a new set of enemies and have another 2 waves of sets. Also, with the demise of Chima, there is a vacancy in the Action/Adventure line of sets. If they gas UA as well, then they would have to bring out 2 new lines late this year. Might be easier for them to introduce one new line in the category instead of 2. If the last stage of the game based on the summer sets ends in some kind of cliffhanger like the first series, then there is a chance that we will get more sets down the road. So they have a Mobile Command Center and a HQ boat: cool Anyway I too like your reasoning. Let's see what the future holds for this theme Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 (edited) Here would be an interesting twist to keep it going: It's the final battle and Antimatter and Solomon Blaze are battling it out in front of Antimatters Portal, Antimatter manages to throw Solomon through the portal, the agents reverse the portal and change Antimatter and the other villains back into the people they were before. The Agents then turn off the portal, but then a new Villain appears (Evil Solomon Blaze) and blows up Antimatters base, then gets away in an escape shuttle traveling into space and that would be the start of Ultra Agents in Space. Mr Greeble Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I like your idea, but Blaze would have a really unfair advantage due to his previous career! Quote
BrickSev Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I like your idea, but Blaze would have a really unfair advantage due to his previous career! Actually his previous two careers Since it appears he was even a member of Galaxy Squad. So the unfair advantage would be double Quote
DuckBricks Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Yeah, I was even wondering if any of the villains of the third wave was evil Blaze! Quote

But, knowing how lego works, if they did give us evil blaze, they probably wouldn't make him look like a super-villain, and more likely just give him red eyes or something like that. TPLSTER21 Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Quick update on the N.A. release date. Called Lego customer service today and point blank asked them when the sets are being released in N.A. The rep, asked me for a set # which I gave him (70166 Spyclops) and he then said "Let me check the release schedule". After a rather long pause, he told me that the sets will release in the "first quarter" he then went on to say that he wasn't able/allowed to give me the specific release date at this time. It sounded like he felt rather bad about that because he then offered (without me asking for any additional information) that his system showed that the sets weren't being released in January (obviously) or February. He then said that I should keep an eye on the N.A. websites and online store "around the 1st of March - HINT! HINT!". So...based on that last part of the conversation, it looks like a March 1st release. But, there is a small part of me that is holding out hope for Feb. 1st given the timing of the US website update with all the 2015 winter sets. Quote
8BrickMario Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 The UK getting the sets two months before us? Okay. I really hope that's not going to happen. The update of the US site does seem to indicate an earlier release, though. Quote

Actually the whole Europe. I live in Italy and the first 2015 wave of UA sets is already available. Btw hold on, I'm sure they will reach USA soon Quote
