Mike S Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) This is the port town of Aden's Gate. Overhead view of Aden's gate showing the full layout of the citadel. Presently, I have quite a few of the buildings in various stages of construction. 1. The harbormaster which I already posted will be getting a slight remodel. This thread will be continually updated with more info. Edited August 24, 2014 by Mike S Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Are you planning on making the entire thing? Quote
SarahJoy Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) Nice! It looks so well-planned and defensible. edited to add: I really like the clearly Mediterranean vibe. Edited August 20, 2014 by SarahJoy Quote
Mike S Posted August 20, 2014 Author Posted August 20, 2014 Are you planning on making the entire thing? Pretty much. For now though, I am just working on everything on the left, starting at the end of the bridge over the waterfalls. I have done some prototype work on the great wall in the background as well as the temple but that is a major project I do not expect to finish for several years. I had the great tower and bridge complete at one time but wasn't satisfied with the style as I felt it was looking a bit too modern, so it all got torn down and is in the process of being rebuilt after I did some LDD planning to establish a style I was satisfied with. Nice! It looks so well-planned and defensible. edited to add: I really like the clearly Mediterranean vibe. Thanks! Quote

mccoyed Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) This is really nice. Can I brickbuild this for you? I may, just may have the pieces needed. EDIT: Oh crap. Except that gold dome. Don't think I have anything like that :( Edited August 20, 2014 by mccoyed Quote
Mike S Posted August 20, 2014 Author Posted August 20, 2014 Thanks for the comments everyone! This is really nice. Can I brickbuild this for you? I may, just may have the pieces needed. EDIT: Oh crap. Except that gold dome. Don't think I have anything like that :( That would be awesome! I'm not really satisfied with the gold dome but I was tired and couldn't find anything else that could represent it at the time which is made up of a bunch of these- formed into a golden dome. Quote

Hopefully it won't be too much longer before I get Building 1 through 10 done in minifig scale. Once I get that part done I think I will take a break from the project for a while before working on the cliffs and fishing huts. Quote
kabel Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I really love to watch how others too throw themselves into building entire cities, it's just such a great experience. It really eats into your brick collection though. Quote
Bregir Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 If I extrapolate the harbourmaster to the whole of this setup... AWESOME! I really think you created something brilliant - You combined the landscape with the cityscape perfectly! No matter if you build each part separately or all together, this is going to be impressive. /Bregir Quote

As I don't think showcasing each individually will display the grandness of the citadel, I'm planning on a massive display. Quote
