Hsw94 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Hey people of EuroBricks! :) I was browsing the internet the other day as you do, and stumbled across these recreations of famous art pieces using 1x1 lego bricks. I think they look great and was just wondering if it would be possible to recreate these with actual lego? Although I am not sure that there are as many shades. I think they would look great in my house! Would be great to hear back from some of you. Link to Artist (http://supergeoffroy...com/search/lego) Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) Here's a link to the 1x1 page from Bricklink. http://www.bricklink...Item.asp?P=3005 Edited August 15, 2014 by Lind Whisperer Quote
m0dulo Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) I don't know about the source of the first image you included because it is different from the rest. As for the images on his blog, I like them but with a caveat. He wrote that he got ripped for them on behance and I can imagine why. I haven't looked at everything on his site, but what I have seen are very, very easy to create with a computer, including the highlight, shadow, and "LEGO" trademark (which isn't there on his images) on the studs. The first time I did something like this was in the '80s. Edited August 15, 2014 by m0dulo Quote
DarthBrickus Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 My wife has been doing 1x1 mosaics and the results look really nice, definitely worth a try. The images in the blog though look indeed very much like pixelated originals with Lego-ish Studs embossed over them. So as the others said, VERY easy to do with freely available picture editing software. That guy got ripped apart rightfully, "Art by Geoffroy Amelot" is either a pretty cheeky exaggeration or simply pretentious. Quote
m0dulo Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 He also sells t-shirts with "his" art (derived in 0.0000027 seconds from someone else's work) printed on them. Quote
