Captain Settle Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) "Wow, that was awesome! My first battle!" "I think we should go to the ruins first and see what's there. The castle sounds dangerous and I think we should go there last when me and Annienal are more experienced in battle." Ooc: Shouldn't me and Kintobar be level 2 now? Emjajoas Posted August 15, 2014 Author Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) Leveling everyone up/giving people the proper experience completely slipped my mind. Damn. Thanks for the catch. Edited August 15, 2014 by Emjajoas Quote
Wedge09 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Alexander gives 20 gold to herself and Docken each, to Annael and Francis gives 30 gold each, then he looked at the map meditating. "I agree with Francis I think the ruin should be the first place we search." then he make a plan for the next moves: -Ruins -Clearing -Forest -Dangerous Camp -Castle "What you think?" he asks to the others "Doing this way, Annael and Francis could arrives to the most dangeroues parts a little more experienced." then he gives the Delfrin Crossbow to Francis "With this you should do more harm to every enemies we will encounter." Quote
Captain Settle Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 "That order sounds good to me." Francis accepts his gold with glee, and slings the borrowed crossbow over his shoulder. "Thanks." He says to Alexander."I'm more used to longbows, but this bow certainly seems more powerful than mine." Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 "Master Vandagant, make sure to favor Humanoids." Before we go, I look around to see if there is a safe place for the party to Rest. Quote
Wedge09 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 If they find a safe place to rest, the party will rest. Then, the party will head to the Ruins. Quote
Emjajoas Posted August 15, 2014 Author Posted August 15, 2014 The Party rests, restoring themselves to full health. Afterwards, they begin their march towards the Ruins. It seemed desolate; the closer they got, they more things seemed to heat up. Soon, feet trudging along the path, things got a little cooler. They continued on, surprised to find that the trees around them were beginning to lose their leaves. It seems as though Summer, like Spring, had come and gone-- it was now Autumn. Grey stones jut towards the sky at odd angles; broken statuettes litter the ground with thier wreckage. The party glances around. The ruins seemed to resemble chariots; knights and dragons; swords and shields; all made of stone. The path led them to an opening- a Chest contained beyond. Just as the party was making their way, they were stopped short-- literally. Alexander rubs his nose where it hit the barrier. It seems as though an invisible wall was erected. The area above the entryway shimmers with a faint red light... Words form in the air. "go end trouble, honeY." ___ ___'_ ______ ____. What will the party do? Quote
Captain Settle Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) Francis looks bewildered at the words for a few seconds before starting to speak. "Um, I think this is supposed to be an anagram because look... there's like, um, a capital letter at the end and not one at the front." He stops speaking and looks quite embarrassed before continuing quietly. " I'll try to help, but I can't really, um, well, read too good ..." After trying to remember all 20 (or is it 21 letters?) and what few words he had learnt from reading quest notices and letters, he suddenly realised what the words meant. "YOU DON'T BELONG HERE! THAT'S IT! HA! And they say you need school to be smart." Ooc: I'm going to feel stupid if I'm wrong. Edited August 15, 2014 by Captain Settle Quote
Wedge09 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 "Ahi!" mutters Alexander rubbing his nose against the invisible barrier. "This could be right!" nods Alexander at Francis words "We don't belong here... this is right, so we can't enter..." Alexander thinks while speaking. "What you say? We left the ruins for the next stop?" he askes to the other party members. Quote
Captain Settle Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 "I think we should wait to see if the solving of the anagram does something, and if not we should inspect the ruins a bit more. You never know, we might find another way in." Says Francis hopefully. Quote
Emjajoas Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 "You don't belong here," echoes a voice, resonating throughout the ruins. The ground shakes slightly, rocks shifting. It's followed by a loud click. The top of the treasure chest beyond the entryway seems to pop open slightly. Perhaps the way was no longer barred? Quote
Captain Settle Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Francis starts to go through the entrance with a lot of swagger in his walk. "Another mystery solved by Francis!" He exclaims. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 "Excellent work, Master Barkley." "Master Vandagant, I suggest we continue to investigate this area." Using my Magnifying Glass, I inspect the treasure chest for traps. If I find no traps, I will open the treasure chest. Quote

Causes Confused and Poisoned by 5. Loved by cats). The stone surrounding you moves again, falling apart. The ruins were unstable without the barrier, that much was certain. The ground shakes again; colourful leaves fall from trees. Perhaps the world itself was unstable. Was your presence enough to rouse the Marquis' slumber slightly? Was he beginning to break the spell? What would happen if you were in his dream when it ended? ...Would the party like to move on? Edited August 16, 2014 by Emjajoas Quote

Emjajoas Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 (edited) The party makes their way back along the path towards the forest. The grey clouds roll across the sky, covering the charcoal sun. The wind blows a cold breeze; the heroes march onwards, reaching the forest before too long. Autumn trees surround them; much like the Ruins, a chest lies in the distance, red lights forming words on the invisible barrier. "move, eLena-lea." It must be the same kind of puzzle-- But the heroes didn't have the luxury to think on it. Much to their surprise, they heard a voice from behind them, though it sounded disconnected, strange, otherworldly. "They don't belong." Brickdoctor Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 OoC: It doesn't matter in this case because of the higher Level you chose, but for future reference, it doesn't make sense to say that an enemy is 'Immune to Scary' — Scary is a positive effect that I have, not a negative effect inflicted on the enemy. You make an enemy immune to the effects of the Dread Hat by setting the Level higher than half of mine, as you also did here. Unless you meant 'Immune to Afraid,' which is an unrelated effect with different consequences, in which case, my bad. "Your plan makes sense, Master Vandagant. I can easily Counterstrike the Elite Lancer until he dies." I attack Dream Lancer A from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. Quote
Emjajoas Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 OoC: It was a feeble attempt to balance around your Dread hat; I had forgotten about the whole half level thing because every time I think of it I just think of lower-leveled enemies. My bad! I'll try to keep that in mind for next time. Quote
Kintobor Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 OOC: Okay, I'm back! I just caught up with what's been happening here, so if I accidentally miss something important, please let me know, I'm tired from a weekend of running through the woods with boffer swords. "Um, gentleman... sorry if I got quiet, I have the tendency to day dream... which makes this whole experience all the stranger..." Annienal strikes the Dream Lancer B from the Front Row. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 "By the way, I believe the anagram works out to be, 'Leave me alone,' if we do have to solve it." OoC: Yes, I cheated and used an anagram solver. I've had one bookmarked ever since Quest 7. Quote
