Are The SERIOUS PLAY Products A Good Source of Parts?

I looked at the LEGO website and found serious play, I don't want to buy the sets that are £££ but the starter kit interests me. It looks as if you get quite a few different types of parts. You get 214 parts and the price is £23.99. Has anyone got experience with these products?

You can see the parts in the picture. That kit seems to be reasonably priced. It's just a matter of whether or not you want those particular parts.

Edit: I just checked the USD price on S@H. On closer inspection, I don't think this set is worth the price. If you want the parts, buy them from Bricklink.

For a while, the largest Serious Play set (like $600 or $800) had what appeared to be about 10 LBG boat rigging pieces right on top of the pile.

If you were able to resell those for the typical rate of @ $100 each, the set would pay for itself in just the one part.

The new pictures of that set no longer have the rigging pieces in them.

I'd stick to Bricklink if I were you.

It's hilarious reading all the product reviews of people saying it's garbage because they spent a ton of money on random parts not realizing it's for synergy and team building stuff.

From a cost perspective just for parts, no. You're paying mostly for the training/team building material. It's a good deal if you plan to run corporate team building workshops with it. You can charge a $1000 USD per day and recover the costs of the sets that way.

I had not heard of the Serious Play line, till I saw them on Amazon. Realizing they are meant for corporate meeting team building exercises..so are meant to be bought by companies as a business expense and more willing to pay the high price... I wonder what companies buy them? My company only had silly putty and crap like that ;-)

I saw Serious Play on Lego.com and was about to ask about it myself... In the USA it's $37 for 219 pieces. But my question was- did every set have the same 214 pieces or was it just 214 random pieces? From the picture it certainly doesn't look like there is any logic to the pieces being included- I kind of wondered if there was a chance you might get different parts with different orders.
