Beck Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 (edited) I am going to be building a basic RC car with the Lego RC motors, but without the RC UNIT because I dont have it. I am going to be controling this car with an arduino Uno. So First question: What is (safest) the highest voltage I can run an RC motor on without overheating. What Voltage does the 8881 Powerfunctions battery box run on. What voltage do the NXT motors run on using the NXT to 9v cable(steering) Thanks for your time! Edited August 6, 2014 by Beck Quote
_Cookie_ Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Hello, What is (safest) the highest voltage I can run an RC motor on without overheating. A couple of years ago, i used a 3 cell (3s , 9V = empty and 12.6V = full) lipo battery on the 9V System Motor, worked fine BUT you can't let them draw the same Ampere as before (will get warmer otherwise). Today i would use a 3s lifepo4 pack. It has 6V when empty and 10.8V when full. What Voltage does the 8881 Powerfunctions battery box run on. 6 AA = 9V What voltage do the NXT motors run on using the NXT to 9v cable(steering) Well, i guess you answered that yourself :D Cookie Quote
