Six Wide Bob Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Hello All My Name's Bob, and my eldest daughter is nearly five years old, which gives me all the excuse I need to get stuck into Lego again!! I used to be a Classic Castle Boy back in the day (80s), but me and my girl are 'City' people now. We've got a couple of brick boxes, a small digger, the fantastic 6 wide ambulance and the new Fire boat (because Woolwrths had it on for Quote
Minish Man Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I think the only 'good behaviour bribe' I ever got was some securtiy building and van after my SATs at the end of primary school. *Shudders* ah what a lame, <insert that tiresome argument> set. Well the building was quite nice, but not that van >_< Anyway enough of my digression, welcome! Quote

MatthewUSA Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I would also like to say welcome Bob. Glad to see another "Townie" has joined us. I am also a fan of the new 6 wide "City" sets. They are certainly more realistic looking than the old 4 wide. Are you and the Mrs's into the "Trains" as well? If you get into the "Trains", definitly look for the 9V system sets. They are so much better *sweet* . Have fun and Model On. Quote
Berry Syedow Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 (edited) If there's one theme to enjoy since your dark age it's certainly city. I just hope TLC gives the other themes such as space and castle a chance to grow like city has. Speaking of castle, how do you think the latest castle theme compares to classic-castle? Six Wide Bob Posted June 11, 2007 Author Posted June 11, 2007 Thanks chaps! I am pretty wide, but more in a 'bear' type way than either an arnie or The Blob type way. I've always liked the look of the Lego Trains, but always thought that it would be better if they integrated with the town sets better - the new City and train sets are upscale and fit into the whole city thing very well. I hope my daughters give me lots of encouragement to branch out! The new Castle sets look like a step in the right direction IMHO - but still not quite as great as the 80s sets! I used to like the modular thing and could build BIG castles. Bob Quote
Minish Man Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Sorry if this was very inappropiate.. :-P All I can is, he must have good eyesight, that far away from the screen :-P Poor guy really... No clothes fit him :-(..or perhaps he's just a naturist.... :-X Quote
