Captain Settle Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I think the top 4 will go: Man City Chelsea Arsenal Everton Of course Arsenal did beat Man City 3-0 today, but no one really takes the community shield seriously. Quote
eurotrash Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Everton above Liverpool! And I'm guessing you're saying ManU won't get to Europe in two consecutive seasons.... Wow! Quote
Captain Settle Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Everton above Liverpool! And I'm guessing you're saying ManU won't get to Europe in two consecutive seasons.... Wow! Well unless ManU sign a good centre back, I don't see them getting very far. Jonny Evans is hardly title challenge quality, and Phil Jones was better at Blackburn. As for Liverpool, they also have quite a poor defence. I think Skrtel is awful at positioning, but people still seem to think he's good because he scores quite a few. The only reason they did good last season was because they were able to score a lot of goals, which overruled what they conceded, but without Suarez I think they'll have trouble scoring as many. The fact I hate ManU and Liverpool has little to do with the above statement. Quote
Robianco Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Right... I'll be setting mine up later. I'm liking the Count's thinking... being a blue myself I'm hoping his prediction is right! :) Quote
greeklad97 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Sounds like a splendid idea! My team name is Bournemouth Rovers... Don't mind the EPL though I follow Seria A and the Bundesliga more, however leage league prediction goes as: 1. Arsenal 2. Liverpool 3. Man City 4. Chelsea 5. Man United 6. Everton 7. Spurs Quote
Macsen Wledig Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 My best prediction is that what I am about to write is almost certainly going to be wrong, especially given that changes to certain teams make it very difficult to predict their performance this season, but for what it's worth I reckon the top five will be: 1. Chelsea 2. Manchester City 3. Arsenal 4. Liverpool 5. Manchester United Perhaps a more interesting question will be who's to be relegated and since for a large part of last season it could been anyone of 10 teams, I reckon that this is an even more difficult question to answer. I personally don't fancy Aston Villa's, West Bromwich Albion's or Swansea City's chances. But then again, it's not normal that a newly promoted team doesn't go down, so who knows... This is coming from a Swansea fan by the way… Quote
Captain Settle Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 As long as they keep Vlaar and Benteke stays fit, I think Villa can survive relegation. Quote
eurotrash Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 As long as they keep Vlaar and Benteke stays fit, I think Villa can survive relegation. I'm sure Villa will make it. However, I'm not so sure about: Burnley Crystal Palace (Pulis gone already?) Leicester It's going to be an exciting season! Quote
Macsen Wledig Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) I'm not sure about Villa, they have a lot of money, some good players yet for the last couple of seasons have played some abysmal football. It was very close down the bottom last season and I can see a repeat of that this year, so really who knows what's going to happen! Edited August 15, 2014 by Macsen Wledig Quote
Spud The Viking Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) May I join, even though I am from Scotland? Also, can I use a team from the SPL or is it only English clubs allowed? P.S. Burnley will win the Premier League! Edited August 15, 2014 by Spud The Viking Quote
SMC Posted August 15, 2014 Author Posted August 15, 2014 May I join, even though I am from Scotland? Also, can I use a team from the SPL or is it only English clubs allowed? P.S. Burnley will win the Premier League! Sure, you pick players from English Prem Quote
Macsen Wledig Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Looks like we've got a decent little league going now - bring on the trash talk! Quote
Palathadric Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Crystal Palace (Pulis gone already?) Yeah, I wonder what's up with that. Crystal Palace had a good thing going. Quote
Captain Settle Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I'm sure Villa will make it. However, I'm not so sure about: Burnley Oh I hope, nay I pray Burnley get relegated. I was also really surprised to see Tony Pulis leave. After getting Premier League manager of the season I thought he would stay and try to do even better. The thing is, no matter how good Pulis does, no top teams will ever want him due to his unattractive football style. I like him though, due to the fact that on all my Football Manager careers I play exactly like him. Quote
SMC Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 times up for week one, let the fun begin Quote
Spud The Viking Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I see a couple of former Rangers FC players on the dream team! Quote
eurotrash Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 15th position in the Fantasy League! I guess there's only one direction to go from here.... Quote
Captain Settle Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I'm third, which is alright. I've only got one player left to play though, so I'll probably slip down the table. Quote
SMC Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 15th position in the Fantasy League! I guess there's only one direction to go from here.... Last time I look there were only 14 players lol guess I should look again think I had a good Saturday but charlie Austin did miss a pen Quote
Macsen Wledig Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Respectable mid table position here, which given my previous performance in Fantasy Football is unlikely to be maintained. That said, the weekend's not over yet! Congrats to SMC, that's some lead! Quote
SMC Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 Congrats to SMC, that's some lead! Thanks in the lead after week one but not by a lot Quote
SMC Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 Balotelli to Anfield! 0.o what price would you buy him for on fpl Quote
Macsen Wledig Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 If Liverpool only paid 16m for him, he might prove to be quite good value in the FFL. Of course, he'll have stop getting sent off and booting his own team mates to be a really solid choice. Quote
