From lego ideas JP submission page

This really sound to me like, they are really deciding this submission.Im not seller, but I think licensed ideas set are more popular also everybody talking about it.Jurassic park lego set for adult buyers will probably make large amount of money, and they know about it.

I am pretty sure that all they are looking for at 1k and 5k is that there are no known external license conflicts. They do not evaluate internal conflicts until review. Ultimately this will all depend on the license and the licensor. It's likely Lego will not actually have that much final say. If the licensor wants original film JP merchandise on shelves alongside JW stuff then they will go for it. If they don't then they won't. And that will all depend on a lot of back room things that we are not privy to. Just for example it is very likely that those that profit from merchandising from JW are not necessarily the same as those that do so from JP. In such a case it might be that the JW license owners will deny JP as a conflicting license. Notice how much JW seems setup to be independently merchandised from JP. Differing colors and iconography. The JW name itself etc. yeah it may just be for story, but license and rights reasons also seem very possible.

At the first I thought the lack of noise from Lego might be because the licence hadn't started yet because of how late they seemed to pick it up and that they were waiting to the start date but now it looks like they just think the sets will sell themselves.

Movie related licenses have very strict street dates about when the licensee can talk or advertise or risk spoiling things. Chances are Lego is bound to a very rigid schedule for reveals and listings, and it is completely out of their control.

Didn't they remove all the Jurassic Park projects from Ideas a while back because another toy company had the license? Maybe that is why they made the licensing comment? To let people know there is no longer a license conflict and it has a shot at becoming a real set.

I'm tempted to get them all on May 1st, though I might hold off on the most expensive one, in case I end up not caring for that new Dino.

My original plan was to pick them all up on release day, but now I just plan to pick up Dilophosaurus Ambush and Raptor Escape on Saturday, since there are a few other sets I want to pick up eating into my 1st half of May budget (some SW sets so I get the May 4th freebie mostly). Then I'll probably return to the LEGO Store on the 18th and pick up Indominus Rex Breakout, again to take advantage of the freebie that is on then. Raptor Rampage is definitely waiting until I can nab it for at least 25% off. The Pteranodon and T-Rex sets I'm not sure when I'll pull the trigger on yet.

If only I didn't have to pay for so many other things in the coming month :sadnew:

I'll probably only pick up Dilophosaurus Ambush, Raptor Rampage and Raptor Escape. I would want to get Indominus Rex Breakout as well but it's way too expensive for me.

I want to get Dilophosaurus Ambush and Raptor Rampage in the same go, and Maybe Pterandon Capture, then will buy the rest over the Summer. :classic: How long do we think these will be on sale for? :classic:

probably till 2016 for wave 1. If Jurassic World gets a sequel, we will see wave 2 in summer 2016.

Probably around a year, give or take a few months, like most other Lego waves.

Sweet, hopefully that means we get some decent sales across places once they have been out for a while then. :classic:

Yeah, I see the sets lasting on the shelves until 2016 at the earliest. Of course, there is the risk of an early EOL (which is why if I want a set, I try to get it as soon as possible), but that's thankfully rare. I have no doubt we'll see some sales on these sets one way or another.

Oh, and if you want to keep tabs on set sales (well, online discounts anyway), may I suggest this very nifty feature on Brickset? (don't worry, other vendors will appear when they get updated by Brickset). It's found me a good deal on a few things in the past.

The sets are out on the stores! Didn't see the two bigger sets, but still! I manage to get both raptor sets. Also, I dunno if anyone noticed but the gate on the Raptor Escape set looks exactly like a small version of the Jurassic World gate. Complete with the flames on top.

Its so weird Lego.com literally has no trace to the sets. The day before release and appearing in Lego stores no product page or countdown on the shop section any way looking forward to tommorow. Age of Ultron and Jurrasic world sets

The sets are great and the figures are extremely detailed. It is so cool to see the classic blue being used more in a modern theme. That is an awesome touch. I sadly however will not be getting any of the sets. (Both due to my budget and space issues) however, I will most likely pre-order the game and pick up that really awesome polybag. Anybody else doing that?

^ I'm very jealous you've already got them, mind giving us a detailed analysis of what you thought of them, if you don't mind of course :)

Sure! Unfortunately I can't post pictures right now. But the sets are awesome! The raptor escape is pretty cool. The fence around the raptors is a good size in my opinion. But it can be expanded to make it bigger if you buy another one. The play features are okae with a tower that drops a figure into the pit. The details are extremely awesome, I specially liked the feeding station, it was simple but it looked fantastic. I wish I had more chicken legs to fill the box! The figures also have very nice printing and Barry doesn't have any special JW symbols so his torso can be used for anything else. Charlie and Echo look fantastic, only wondering what might have given Echo a light mark all the way around his snout. For 40 dollars I think it's a pretty good set regarding the details and the two raptors.

As for the Pratt Pratt set, I like it, 50 dollars seemed like a bit much at first but I just had to get the raptor pack together. Blue and Delta are slightly more detailed than Charlie and Echo, they had more colors and much cooler designs. The figures are cool, Owen obviously is the star on the set but Claire is nicely printed and with the pink on white she looks nice. The ACU is like the ones that we have already seen, except he has the Bruce Wayne face. (Oh right, the raptor escape comes with a vet with the Ghostbuster head, and the torso looks really nice). Ummm, other stuff that might be of interest...

I didn't know this but the back of the Vet truck comes off so you get a tiny command station for the figures. The inside is mostly dull, it comes with two computers and the gun. (The gun has three positions, one on top of the vet car, another as a stand alone and for packing, it can slide inside)

Yeah... the pics aren't loading. If I got time I will post them later. (Usually don't do this, so having a bit of trouble)

Well, the new dinosaur figs look really nice, but the vehicles and the HQ are amazingly underwhelming. Blocky, bland and uninspired with boring color schemes - OK, they are based on a movie, got it, but still. (That truck in 75917! Clearly adopted from the 80s.)

Cant wait to get the sets, looks like none are exclusive in the UK so should be easier to find a good deal.
