You wake one, and you wake them all.

The Bohrok are by far my favorite Bionicle sets, and Tahnok gets the title of favorite set, because that's the one I got back in 2002. Hyped up bu the now very likely return of the line and some of the other reinterpretations of classic characters that have popped up recently, I was inspired to take a shot at rebuilding one.

Their faces always confused me though, never was quite sure how I was supposed to read their facial features. They're usually described as being insectoid in nature though, a swarm, so I took some liberties and made my interpretation slightly buglike.

The Va was more of an afterthought, an accessory to the Tahnok. It was built really quickly and not much effort went into it but I'm still pleased with the result.

Well that's it for my ranting. Thanks for taking a look!

Excellent build! I think you captured there shape pretty well. And I usually don't like system in bionicle mocs, but I think it works well here.

Does I curl into a ball like the old ones?

Nope, sadly. I tried to accomplish it but I thought It wasn't worth sacrificing the look for the function.

Thanks!

Wow, creepy... The face reminds me the Barraki. Bohrraki maybe ?

I don't really mind the system parts, because they follow the CCBS aesthetics, but the studs bother me. It might be because there are only a few visible, it makes them stand out a bit too much to my taste. Anyways, I really love the legs, you perfectly captured the original Bohrok limb design, and the Va is great, especially the head.

Great job using system bricks to build the body and facial features while still retaining the krana underneath! As mentioned before, you should do this with the others as well!

Thanks everyone! I might attempt more Bionicle characters sooner or later but I can't promise anything. A Rahkshi or Visorak maybe...

After taking a moment to bask in the awesomeness that is this Tahnok, I can safely say that it is indeed totally awesome.

I like the four-eyed insect look you've given it, and I like the raised Krana-cranium. I especially like what you've done with the teeth/mandibles.. have you gone and doubled everything on the face? It's a good (and creative) move, and I really enjoy the end result.

The 'shields' look the part, and the legs are simple- but so were the original Bohrok legs, so it's cool.

To me, it gives off a certain creepy alien appearance, and seeing a whole swarm of these wiping out villages and burning down trees, leveling mountains.. that would certainly freak me out, if I was a Matoran villager.

I agree with your thoughts about the Va, and I have the same thoughts about the original version. An afterthought. Something to go along with the Bohrok. Just that assistant character that nobody really thinks twice about.

It does look the part, though, and I like the kind of cutesy look you've given it with the little teeth. Nice that the eyes match the big Bohrok, and the fire-staff is pretty cool too.

Does the Krana stay on alright? On the original Va, I had problems with the Krana falling out, no matter what pose it was in.

I really enjoy seeing these 'blasts from the past(though the Va wasn't really a blast, it's just.. there)' in your styling, and I do hope you do more.

Personally, I'd like to see you tackle a Visorak in this style. That'd be pretty sweet.

Fantastic! It has so much character and detail while still staying spot-on with the original look. Same goes for the Va. They have more of an organic look than what I'd expect from their real life counterparts (if they even had real life counterparts  ) but they're absolutley amazing.

Excellent work once again Warhead! Tahnok's face looks wonderfully frighting. And the overall bulk of it is much more intimidating than the original. I like that you kept the headbutt/biting feature, Bohrak just aren't Bohrak without it.

I'd love to see you recreate the Rahkshi using these new parts and techniques. They're my favorite Bionicle villain line. (The second being the Bohrak )

Yep, the design is directly influenced by the piece of concept art, I felt it was really cool and captured the insectoid feel the Bohrok were described as having.

Thanks everyone!

This is probably the only revamp of the bohrok I have ever seen. This moc makes me think thats how the Bohrok should look like in the movies. Too bad most of these parts dont come in other colors I would of loved seeing more variations of this.

Both of them are top-notch revamps of their older counterparts. After seeing your gallery on Flickr, you are a really creative fellow, I really dig your creations, keep doing amazing work!.

Excellent work! Your Tahnok and Tahnok Va are awesome. Nice mix of BIONICLE and HF parts with elements from LEGO System. And this Tahnok's head... Pure awesomeness. I could only complain about knees of this Bohrok - they, in my opinion, don't fit in the overall look. But they're not bad. And by the way: these two MOCs, made by You, Warhead, inspired me to make revamp of LoSS. So... thanks!

Oh dear Makuta, I love it! I'm not often a fan of brick-built Bionicle figs, but this one takes the cake. It's everything one could ask for in my opinion, and the multiple eyes and fang position really sell it! Overall, splendid MOC!
