Klaus-Dieter Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 (edited) I'd like a comeback of the Forestmen (similar to the Robin Hood theme which was an amazing Castle theme), a comeback of the Ninjas, some robber-knights like the Green Dragon Knights from 1993, some Arab knights like http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...opic=9827&st=15 and of course Medieval twon and civilian stuff. Shadows Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I have heard, those it is unproven as far as I am concerned, that the forestmens hat is basically a dead part. All of the molds wore out or were disposed of. Doesn't mean they couldn't recast, but ... That said, a line of well planned out generic townsfolk would be excellent. Finding a way to keep them action oriented enough for the kids, but made of the right parts for the rest of us, LEGO could make a fortune. Definitely bring back the old cowls, use the new SW hoods as well, keep up the quality level of the new sets. Here's a plan... whenever they add a new faction/race, they should also add some generic varieties of normal people. Call them the townspeople who are being attacked or whatever, but use them as filler to keep the ratio of "new" down with recycled parts for the regular people. Ultimately, it'll raise profits while giving us exactly what we want and satisfying the kids. So, for example ... Elves, as mentioned earlier. Elf sets include an elf or two, plus a troll from the earlier sets, and a couple of humans. Maybe one soldier and one civilian. You get to mostly use preexisting parts, and guarantee a sale with the new figures. The older ones serve another purpose as well. What do you do when you have one or two knights? You buy more. One troll? Gotta buy more, etc. Oh, and cross promote. Just because you're designing for Castle, doesn't mean you can't think of other themes. All those SW Jedi make fine Castle people, and including parts of them in Castle sets will help sell them to SW people looking for more Jedi. See? Sneaky. *y* This is a bit rambly, but if you read it carefully, you just might get a headache good idea out of it. ;-) Quote

Yes, a medieval town or village would be fantastic. Complete with some hens, cows and haystacks. :'-) We need more serfs. Quote
Tanotrooper Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Romans and greeks would be great... or an Ancient theme... I'd like to see some more early-mid middle age knights TT Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 (edited) I'd also like to see an Arabian theme, that would be great. There are many legends from this area, so it would fit nicely into a Lego theme. You could have flying carpets, golden lamps, opening and closing rocks, etc. Also, I think the AT-ST pilot helmet in white and with the line part red or blue would make a very nice hat for an Arabian theme *wub* Also, I'd like to have a medieval helmet like his one: And mabye some new armour that doesn't make it look like you have a pot belly :-D As for the current theme, I can't really think of anything other than Elves or another human faction. Mabye they could make giants or centaurs :-$ Edited December 19, 2007 by TinyPiesRUs Quote
Hinckley Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 There was a discussion about this recently, but I for one would love to see elves, cheesy or not! X-D I really do think though that Lego should do Greeks and/or Romans, but since the current Castle is more fantasy than fact I can't see that happening for a while. Thanks Sinner, I've merged the two topics. Great ideas WarnIcarus and even better username. Welcome to Eurobricks. Have yourself some fun! :-) Quote
WarnIcarus Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 (edited) Great ideas WarnIcarus and even better username. Welcome to Eurobricks. Have yourself some fun! :-) Thanks, it's always great when someone appreciates it. --- So let's try to make a list of what the 'factions' we want Good Humans Bad Humans Bandits (Robin Hood) Dwarves Orcs/Goblins/Trolls Elves (?) Ents (?) - Maybe its best left to MOCs Honestly, I think that a "Mesopotamia" theme has potential. Arabs were the traders in the medieval world, and they could be a nice side theme like Vikings is. Also, if you were going to expand castle LEGO would need to make some more farm animals (maybe Brickforge will provide the impetus they need?). I would suggest (in a variety of colors/patterns of course): Cows -Calves Sheep Chickens Pigs Also, does anyone else think that using Bellville pieces is demeaning? I think that LEGO should make more of an effort to include pieces in LEGO system sets. Edited December 19, 2007 by WarnIcarus Quote
