Hello!

I know, it's been a while since I last popped into the Town forum, but I thought I'd share my minifig scale static caravan LDD MOC with you. For those who are wondering what a static caravan is, the US might know it as the typical mobile home. The UK has mobile homes too, but they're much smaller than these "static" caravans. Using these static caravans as holiday homes where I'm from (the UK) is pretty big business in the summer, and I for one used to go on holiday as a kid in one of these static caravans (they're static for a reason in the UK - they're too big for our roads and only moved when necessary). Hopefully that made a bit of sense, now for some pics. I tried to fit in all the details you'd normally see in these things, including living room, kitchen, boiler cupboard, bathroom and 2 bedrooms. I would have rendered all the pics, but at 17 and a half hours per render, there was absolutely no way, so it's just the one render here  It's my very first render too, so still learning it...

A living room, with sofa/couch and TV, and a little kitchen.

Another view of the kitchen, bathroom, boiler room and the 2 bedrooms. I know - the bedrooms could do with more detailing, but with such little space to work with, it was a bit difficult. Also limited by the door sizes available to be honest, I like my doors to be functional

Probably my favourite bit: the obligatory sofa bed. I wouldn't be surprised if it was more comfortable than typical static caravan sofa beds

And the bed folds back in to become the sofa again.

Just a plan view of the whole MOC, roof detached.

That is all for now. If you liked this MOC, please let me know by way of a comment here, or a fave or comment on Flickr  Any positive constructive suggestions for how to improve the MOC would be good too (but don't just say you don't like something about it, say how you'd make that something better :classic: ). Maybe one day I'll build this for real, but I have far too many projects still to do...

I like it. I make a lot of model caravans to sell to circus/fairground model makers (non Lego)

For that corner bedroom door you could try using a sliding door on the out side which would give you more room on the inside for for some more furniture. I can't find the parts i mean on bricklink, but it would be a 8x1 plate with a piece attached that the door slides in. you need 2 off them.

Do you mean this part? A sliding door is a neat idea, it should work for the narrow bedroom definitely. I do have to work more on the look of the square master bedroom too.

Like that part but the slider bit is wider..

Found it, this is the top rail the bottom one faces up http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=30586

Edit: or maybe they are both the same?

or looking at it again, you could narrow the couch by one stud and move everything over and extend the wall giving you room to swing the normal door outwards.

Very nice MOC with lots of details. It would only take a couple of changes to the interior for that to make a wonderful modular office area for a construction site layout as well.

Great Work!
