Or more like a WIP

Still working on things

Well here's my first MOC in Lego in over 20 years.

The backstory to this old building is it was once the village police station many years ago. But as the village grew the station was getting to small so the cops moved out and the building was left empty for a long time. But recently a local entrepreneur decided it would make a decent night club and converted the ground floor. The old Jail cell has been partially demolished and turned into a stage to entertain the crowds.

What appears to be part of an old church has been reclaimed and used as the background for the bar and an old car has been chopped up to use as wall decoration.

The upstairs is still an empty shell and the roof needs a lot of work but at least the doors are open for business

As i said it still needs work but it's getting there.

I think the roof may need to come down and a new one built and the upstairs may become a dance studio or an event room for parties but we're still waiting on planning permission. Mainly because of some problem neighbors moaning about noise.

Good looking facade with unusual Technic-part usage, interesting interior, lights and - if I squint my eyes a little bit then I can imagine - THE BLUES BROTHERS ON STAGE!

Though I can't work out what you've made the yellow scalloped edge to the bar from...

I like it!

Thanks for the kind comments guys

@ Lightingtiger... I'm new around these parts and I have no idea what "NM" means but if you see anything you want to use that's fine by me. If it was a big secret i wouldn't post pics of it here.. still no idea what "it" is though

@ mkeller234 ....yeah it says Pats pets. the pet business is booming around town and she bought out the next door shop she also owns the upstairs apartments and is the one making all the complaints to the local law, so we don't like her much

@ cgarison.. I had no idea they where Technic wings my research said they came from the coast guard unimog set 7726 (I'm still learning)

@ eurotrash Yes that was indeed Jake and Elwood on stage the night i took those pictures, but they where here for one night only and disappeared as soon as the local cops turned up responding to another noise complaint from the cat lady next door, no clue why.

In the last few months i have been buying bulk lots of Lego from the local classified adds and when i find weird parts i google them to find out what set they came from. The yellow "bar fronts" are from the 4794 commander sub set http://bricker.info/sets/4794/. I have about 95% of the set but i am missing some important parts so i never built it. I also have a few of the same part in grey but so far i have no idea what set they came from.

Here's a slightly better pic of the bar...

I hope that helps.

(Edit)

Duh!! i just discovered which set my grey "bar fronts" came from from the link i posted above.http://bricker.info/sets/6739/ Well at least i have a new set to try and build now

I really like your ground floor facade. Well designed but make me think more of a shop than a bar! Maybe you should move this metal structure with the pirate flag...

Your 1st floor and roof are, in my taste, lacking somthing... Details and structure are not enought present on thoose floors...

Concerning the interior, I like the nice part use for the counter!

Thanks again guys.

The flagpole is hiding the lack of one more grey tile. The red sign was yellow for a while but didn't look "Hot" enough.

As for the windows, I wanted to use the curved glass but only have them in blue so i had to use the blue in the flat bits aswell.

The curved entrance is or was quite common on the older buildings and even bars around where i live.

Work is still continuing on the upper floors and the old roof has been condemned.

The new roof was installed today but now the windows on the second floor look too far off center so they need adjusting.

Some of the grey parts need cleaning but for now they suit the old run down look

Well things have been going well at Heat and the management have finally been able to finish off the refurbishment of the old building.

The upper facade has been fully restored to it's former glory...

The whole exterior has been given a fresh coat of paint...

The empty bottles are stored out back but there is still a small rat problem...

DSC04471.jpg

A brand new lighting system has been install to light up the stage area...

DSC04480.jpg

And a new resident D.J. has been hired..

DSC04481.jpg

Jake and Elwood have returned to entertain the crowds.

DSC04482.jpg

The derelict upstairs space has also got a new makeover and is now a space available to rent for private functions.

Tonight is a 40th birthday party and everyone has come in fancy dress..

But there's always someone who goes that little bit over board with the costume :hmpf_bad:

Now I am going to have to get the crocodile to do that. Brilliant!

Great work on the second floor of the night club. I really like the detail in the new facade.
