What are the difference with the short and long couplings on the monorail motor? I do not have any of the parts yet but have recently looked into to get some parts for the monorail. I also got my hands on a Space monorail at e-bay but have not receved it yet.. But when i check Bricklink there is to different types of motors. one with short Coupling and one with long Couplings.

The newer motors have the longer couplings. My monorails have been packed away (trains are out, track is away) for a few years so I can't test it myself, but my guess is that they made longer ones for better flexibility of the train.

From memory, the 6991 Unitron train does corners a tiny bit easier than 6990 Futuron train.

That also means a train using the newer motor is a fraction longer than if using an old one. Only slightly.

:classic: I plan to make a small layout with 2 trains or have one with space Theme and one with city theme.Thats the reason for more parts for train. But have not desided yet. Edited by mrfuture
