nymmerod Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I made a substantial bricklink order and the mail carrier marked it as delivered on the confirmation number but my lock-box was empty. This has happened before on eBay purchases I have made. I think the dude sees Paypal on the envelope and thinks there is something of value and takes it as his own. The first missing package was my (1984 Hasbro) b-wing fighter from eBay around Xmas 2012. Totally never arrived. That time I called the post office and got nowhere and chalked it up to some kind of human error. Then it happened again months later with a t-shirt I ordered which never arrived. Now my 60.00 USD bricklink order has gone missing and the post office has the same lack of answers as always. Has anyone ever had this sort of situation? Very frustrating. I'm thinking he opened it up and thought "Oh hell, what am I going to do with a huge pile of tan Lego bricks? But since he opened it, he couldn't exactly tape it back up and stick it in my mailbox the next day without me noticing the funny business. So he probably gave it to his kids or something. Or is he turning around my stuff and selling it on eBay? Quote
DuckBricks Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I would raise an issue. If it has happened more than 3 times, or even just once, that is an issue of confidentiality. I suggest reporting it. Quote
Zeya Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I wouldn't jump to conclusions that it's the mailman's fault. He probably delivers packages all day, and I'll bet he's well aware of the ramifications of getting caught in the act. You mentioned a lockbox though. Does anyone else have access to the lockbox? At any rate, if I were you, I would start having packages delivered elsewhere. (I have mine delivered to work quite often.) Another option is to have them hold it somewhere for pickup, although I don't know if that's easy or a hassle. You could also consider opening up a P.O. box which should be more secure. Quote
Dharkan Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Are you sure your address is correct? It might be the case for overseas orders. Quote
eurotrash Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 And coincidently someone today sent me this link Quote
grum64 Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 If the Lock Box is at your home I'd invest in CCTV of some description and have it set to cover the 'Box. Cameras that record onto SD cards are cheap to buy and would be easy to set up. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) How about getting it insured, would that cover for losses in the actual delivery stage? Edited July 4, 2014 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
dr_spock Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Maybe you can have your sellers ship with a method that requires a signature on delivery. Security cam would be helpful. Quote
talos Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 (edited) I just had a situation last week. I had 3 separate BrickLink orders coming the same day. Small orders, in flat mailers. The post arrived and I find only 2 there, not 3. I get worried, and check, online all 3 still showed out for delivery. I wasn't sure what to do, but an hour or two later, the missing order appeared on my mailbox clothespin. Somehow, the postman delivered it to the wrong house, and whomever it was walked it over to my house. I was relieved. So, a lot of different things can happen, I wouldn't immediately think it was theft. I know what you mean about having PayPal plastered all over the label though, everyone assumes it's EBay. Hypersonic Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Always my worst nightmare when buying something online and the reason why I'm somewhat uneasy with buying from bricklink... I hope you resolve this soon and get your stuff back, and good luck! Quote
N-4K0 Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Ouch... I've never had anything I've ordered disappear in the mail like that. Good luck, hope the problem is solved soon. Quote
