DasMatze Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) After my recent purchase of the Pet Shop, I finally had all the windows and doors to create a little Western Steam Train highly inspired by the Constitution Train Chase. First I created this concept: Then came the real deal made out of about 900 parts: It doesn't have too much details but I'm pretty satisfied with the result. I hope you like it too! Hrw-Amen Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 This is a nice first attempt at making a complete train. Do you have it powered at all and the track to run it on? I think the engine is the best bit to be honest, but it could be made a whole lot better by the addition of some connecting rods on the big driver wheels, maybe even some piston action? But yes, the engine is a nice build especially if you have not done one before. For the coaches, I would like to see them longer, at least twice as long and with double axled bogies. I know this would require a bigger investment in wheels and a fe other bits but it would make the whole train a lot more satisfying for you, enabling much more fun to be had! Quote
zephyr1934 Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 This is a nice build, with the inclusion of the old style windows it really has the feel of one of the train sets from the late 70's or early 80's. Quote
DasMatze Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 Thank you for your feedback! Do you have it powered at all and the track to run it on? Yep! but it could be made a whole lot better by the addition of some connecting rods on the big driver wheels, maybe even some piston action? If only I had the parts I would add rods but no piston action since I didn't want it to be any wider. For the coaches, I would like to see them longer, at least twice as long and with double axled bogies. I know this would require a bigger investment in wheels and a fe other bits but it would make the whole train a lot more satisfying for you, enabling much more fun to be had! That's right. The main problem would be the windows and either a train baseplate or small turntables of which I don't have enough. :( Quote
dr_spock Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Nice train. Do coaches from that era have large equipment boxes under the carriage? Quote
