Hobbythom Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) Hi everyone! I present to you my newest modular: 'Bob's Kabob' snackbar! For this modular I wanted to do something different. Being from the Netherlands I find most of the modular buildings rather large. The way they are build lend them very well for laying out broad boulevards and less for building the small, maze like city centers of old European towns. So decided to make this a double modular, meaning that the back of the building had to have a street worthy facade aswell. This way the building would face two streets. Let's have look inside shall we? The apartment above And the top floor And as a bonus pic: Bob's Kabob between a small square I build and my Asian restaurant. The building styles don't match but I wanted to see them next to each other. I hope you guys like it. Feedback is greatly appreciated! Edited July 1, 2014 by Hobbythom Quote
eurotrash Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Lovely build Hobbythom! Your interiors are always well done and this is no exception. The restaurant area looks exactly as it should and the upstairs apartment is well laid out. I really like the dual-frontage you've got with the front and rear of the building - that's a nice touch and it's always a pleasure seeing a glimpse of the inside corner Asian restaurant (I was checking that out again recently and it still remains one of my favorite modulars). More please? Quote
Hobbythom Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 Thanks for the kind reply Eurotrash! Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Excellent modular 'Hobbythom', maybe a Coffee Chain next it instead.......Brick On ! Quote
AlcoEmmen Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Great looking building, always like to see people use sets forbtheir own creations. A good source for inspiration... Keep going strong! Quote
Kristel Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 This is fantastic! Both facades are great, but the first one is definitely my favourite. Love the interior details, especially the burner/warmer on the kebab. Quote
Man with a hat Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Nice modular and good use of those classic yellow windows. And interesting to see a street at the back as well. Quote
Superfunk Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Really well done! I like your idea of "thin" city blocks, i.e. dual facade houses. And taking inspiration from the LEGO Movie for modulars is great, there are a couple of more possibilities (get's me thinking... ). Quote
