Boonetrooper Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Jurassic park, for those who don't know the tag line. Lego's already done two sets from jurassic park 3, under the studios line. But if they were to approach it differently, they could have some prime sets. I can think os several, right off the bat: 6501 Tour Car 8.00$ Alan Grant and Tim are ready to go on the tour! But will the compies ruin their trip? Includes Alan, Tim, and some compies. ~~~~~~~~~~ The smallest set, good way to amass compies. 6502 Dilophosaur Attack 15.00$ Dennis Nedry's lost looking for the dock, and now he's in Dilophosaur Territory! Will he make it to the dock in time? Includes Dennis, Car, Dilo, and rock. ~~~~~~~~~ Sweet! A dilo set! The Dilo could have retractable Frills. The rock would have a bottle hidden in it. 6503 Raptor Pen 20-25.00$ The Velociraptors are so dangerous, they needed There own special pen! The visitors make a visit to the Raptors, but they're in danger of escaping! Includes Muldoon, Hammond, Grant, Ellie, Ian, three Raptors and a launcher! ~~~~~~~~~ My Personal favorite, It would have a Launcher in the watchtower and plenty of vegitation and a gate. 6504 T-rex Attack 40.00$ The Visitors have made their way to the mightiest Dino of all, T-Rex! But the power's out, and the T-Rex is escaping! Will the Tourists make it? Includes Two cruisers, Alan, Ian, Lex, Tim, Gennaro, A restroom, The T-rex, and the Fence! ~~~~~~~~~~~ GREAT possabilites here. The restroom can fold open, The fence can collapse, and The T-rex can Be fully jointed! Another personal Favorite. 6505 Visitor Center 80.00$ The visitors have Made it back, but the Danger isn't gone yet! Two raptors have followed, and The T-Rex is hot on their Scent! Can they foil them in time to get to the helicopter? Includes Hammond, Arnold, Ian, Alan, Ellie, Lex, Two raptors, The T-rex, A helicopter, and a cruiser. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ SOOOOO much potential! A landing pad for the chopper, a Brontosaur skeleton, A kitchen, a control center and a launcher.A good recreation from the Final scene! Notes: All Dinos would be brick-built, To scale. Each set would include a track, which can connect. If you have every set. You can make a complete Tour of Jurassic Park! They're so many more possabilities, like The sequal, A T-rex hunt, The power shed, even a Dino-herd set. I think this would be a good first wave, thought the prices are a little gaped. I'll post Wave Two later. But for now, What do you think? Quote
Brick Miner Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 (edited) though i loved dinoaurs as a kid, i never really got into jurassic park, or dinosaurs in LEGOs. however, one of the prettiest MOCs i've ever seen is a jurassic park. if you haven't had the pleasure, BT, i think its something you will like... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=298549 - BrickMiner Edited May 31, 2007 by Brick Miner Quote
Athos Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 I'm personally rather tired of Lego dinosaurs... especially (and this is likely to be the case with any new line) if they are as crappy as the DinoAttack ones. As to the set ideas, I think these are some of the best (most realistic) ideas for set sizes and figure counts. Might be interesting. I'm not a fan of licenses though and would rather Lego stuck to original lines... Steve Quote
iamded Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Eh, I've had enough of dinosaurs. The thought of dinosaurs living among people creeps me out anyway... *sing* Quote
Hinckley Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Great ideas BT. I would buy the whole line. I like dinosaurs, they are neat (sometimes I like to respond like a kid--operative word: sometimes). Really thorough descriptions, thanks for sharing. I could picture the sets. I was a big fan of Dino Attack and I liked the way they built the dinosaurs. I thought they were more realistic than the Bionicley dragons in the Viking line. Don't get me wrong I still love the bionicley dragons, they are neat. I just like the velociraptors and T-rexes better. But those freakazoid purple and orange one piece mutant smiley dinosaurs? What were those? That was a real weird choice. Back on topic: Jurassic Park line on (It'll probably never happen, but I'd buy it if it did) Anyone ever notice I have a tendency to ramble. When will this post end? Quote
simonwillems Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I bought most of the Adventurers line with dinosaurs, those beasts were nicely done (much too small, but it didn't bother me at the time...). If, however, Lego were to release another dinosaurs line I would personally refrain from purchasing. Quote
oo7 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 The prospect of Jurassic Park in itself is cool, but the possibilities are severely limited. On Brickshelf and MOCpages you'll find a gate, a raptor pen, another gate, a jeep, another raptor pen, anothor jeep, a micro raptor pen, yet another jeep, a boring helicopter, yet another raptor cage, and then a couple of castle gratings with a DinoAttack Tyrannosaur. The only thing really spectacular besides those three would be the visitor's center, but that's way too big and complicated for anyone to have made at the present. I'd buy the line, but It would have to have dinos built like such in these sets. None of this crap: Also, I can't help but to point out a little nit. The line would be 206 million years in the making; from the beginning of the Jurassic period, not the end of the Cretaceous. Quote
hewkii9 Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 I'd like that, but it'd be a bit hard to execute well, and licence banes like fleshies, too many hero figs, would condemn the line. I'd buy it though. And oo7, 'A film 65 million years in the making' was one of Jurassic Parks's taglines, though you are right. Quote
SWMAN Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I like it, bukt Dino's built brick-by-brick is not realistic. People have no patience to build the Dinos that way. It would narrow down the dino possibilities and the dinos would look choppy and not smooth. Quote
