D3K Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) I started to make a standard 6-axle European truck, and crossed the 200 part limit before it was 1/4 finished So I started again, in a way smaller scale, and this is the result: The features are fairly simple: -Articulated steering from the gear on the roof -Articulation around the x-axis between the cabin and the rear -Rear axles suspension -Dumpable bed (mini LA) by turning the exhaust on the front High resolution pictures available in the %20contest%20Eurobricks"]Bricksafe folder I haven't decided if this will be my entry in the competition yet, but it might if I don't get around to building something else Edited July 12, 2014 by D3K Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 That is a cool dumper. What about linking the tailgate to the main frame with a chain,so that it will open the tailgate as it opens? Quote
D3K Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) Thanks guys, I'm glad you like it! I have built it in real bricks, and it works just like intended That is a cool dumper. What about linking the tailgate to the main frame with a chain,so that it will open the tailgate as it opens? Would be cool, as it is now, gravity does the job. Due to parts count, I think I will have to let it slip this time around Edited July 12, 2014 by D3K Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Awesome! This is definitely something I could see LEGO selling. Quote
legomuppet9 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 And I thought I might have a chance... I know right Quote
jorgeopesi Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I would buy one too, nice entry for the competition. Quote

N-4K0 Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Man, this is easily the best entry so far IMO, love it Quote
D3K Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 (edited) Thank you all very much for the kind words, I am really glad you like it! For those of you saying you'd buy one; you don't need to, here is the LDD file if you want to build it yourselves. Edited July 12, 2014 by D3K Quote
Rockbrick Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 super little thing - don't think I will bother entering .... Quote

Trawler Man Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 (edited) don't think I will bother entering .... That's exactly how i feel.Nice work, though, D3K. I'm sure you'll be in the top 3 with this. Edited June 9, 2014 by Trawler Man Quote
D3K Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 (edited) What about linking the tailgate to the main frame with a chain,so that it will open the tailgate as it opens? Well, you know I couldn't just leave it at that, I had to try something eventually .. It's not a chain, but it does the job It is very simple, and only added one piece to the total, as I now have two axles running through the tailgate, instead of lots of pins and 3L pins. D3K Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 Nice function for a small dumper . Cheers! It's not only the part count that limits functions in these models, but the overall size as well, and the aesthetics! One has to find a nice balance, to make a good model in this competition I think.. I'm not sure the minor function of the tailgate mechanism is worth the extra bulk and how it ended up looking Quote
ms09 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 A really nice entry! Looks like an official set, maybe mini version of 8264 hauler? Quote
barman Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Just perfect. I love the suspension. Very nifty dumper. Quote
