Calanon Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 At this stage, any guess is as good as any. I don't think accidentally slipping from posting IC is scummy.
jluck Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 "Snip" This is also my first game with this kind of voting technique and it does benefit the "scum" and also maybe some of the better players. Not meaning players with lots of experience rather than players who has talent for this kind of play, playing in the shadows and are good on analyzing others. So in this game it will be very important for "town" to find eachother and start analyzing. How many scum do you think there is? We are 14 players total, so a "scum" count of 3 would sound right, (max 4 but that could be overkill) My assumption is at most 3. Therefore, if the scum want to score a kill during day play, particularly later in gameplay, they will need to convince town to vote with them.
TrumpetKing Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 There may have been a misunderstanding. Slipping is usually used as a term for accidentally givin away that you are scum, not messing up with posting IC. I was leading towards saying that Juan and Alan acting close to the point where they could be scum partners, saying they could have slipped. So yes, I would say the two of them are acting kind of scummy, not to mention that Alan seems to continuously try to get us on task without adding much but defense for himself and Juan.

Ok, Bebe is just being obnoxious. There, I defended her now. My, my, but Miss Tiffinay you sure do seem like you want to get rid of me. Mighty suspicious behavior if you ask me. I wonder if maybe it's you we should all worry about.
TrumpetKing Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 You're responding to my accusation with defensiveness, and awkward reasoning. Am I not supposed to point out my suspicions? Especially with little to go on, since nobody seems to be talking a whole lot, you still sound rather defensive. All I have done is provide more substance as to why I suspect you, and instead of at least trying to show that you are town in your actions, you are just trying to push my suspicion back towards me and being overly defensive of both yourself and Juan. It's important to note that I didn't initially show suspicion of you until you defended Juan. How does that make me eager to get rid of you, when I have voiced my suspicion for Juan just as much?
Adam Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 As far as strategy, well we as a group will have difficulty in working together because each of us works alone in a position of authority. The bad guys trying to bring us to what they call justice are used to working together in a very structured method. What we need to look for is those who want to work together are probably the ones we want to get rid of. I'm not quite sure I understand your logic here. Are you saying that we shouldn't try to cooperate? Can you please elaborate?
Lady K Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I'm not quite sure I understand your logic here. Are you saying that we shouldn't try to cooperate? Can you please elaborate? I would be happy to elaborate. I do think we should try to cooperate. Town needs to pull together to get rid of the scum. I know what I said came across as scummy and that was not my intention. I was merely trying to get someone to suggest something useful, by saying something sarcastic and off the wall. My idea was not meant to be taken seriously. We need good solid ways to find and get rid of the killers that have infiltrated us. You're responding to my accusation with defensiveness, and awkward reasoning. Miss Tiffany, we could go back and forth till the cows come home and it still won't help us find those scum. All are welcome to voice suspicion of each other or ask for clarification.

badboytje88 Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Defended Bebe. Noted. When she turns up scum, you are next on the list. I am just informing you that you will be getting my vote. You keep on pushing people towards voting for me when I didn´t do anything wrong. I know I am not scum. I just lack the means to defend myself because you have no arguments to base your suspicion on. Your main reason for voting me out is because you think I am obnoxious. Well guess what, so are you! #Loser
def Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Over defensive, add to that revenge voting. Day one votes have little substance, but revenge voting has even less substance than that. You've done this game 20 times, you should know better.
Lady K Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Defended Bebe. Noted. When she turns up scum, you are next on the list. Ok pal and just exactly, and I do mean exactly as in proof does this mean I am scum?
def Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Ok pal and just exactly, and I do mean exactly as in proof does this mean I am scum? You're more likely scum than her. Day one, only the scum know others allegiances. There is zero reason for you to defend her except that you are scum. I'll be changing my vote for you, it's a safer bet.
Bob Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 It's between Bebe and Alan as of right now, and I'm really leaning towards Alan, mostly because of this post: As far as strategy, well we as a group will have difficulty in working together because each of us works alone in a position of authority. The bad guys trying to bring us to what they call justice are used to working together in a very structured method. What we need to look for is those who want to work together are probably the ones we want to get rid of. When I asked him about it in private, he said to me that he was only roleplaying and that it doesn't make sense for the town to work together because we're all Mafioso's. I've decided that this wasn't just harmless roleplay and that there could be something more sinister at work here. I'll be voting for Alan.
Lady K Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Ok pal and just exactly, and I do mean exactly as in proof does this mean I am scum? How can I be scum when all I've done is ask questions, point out what I think to be suspicious behavior and defend those that are being accused with little to no evidence. So you are after me because I defended Bebe and Tiffany is after me because I defended Juan. Does not make sense to me, but does look mighty suspicious on both your parts. Where is both of your proof that I am scum? I don't see anyone else agreeing with you.

The scum are bandwagoning against a over talkative Texan. Well I am not scum and if I don't make it for day 2 ya'll be real sorry. As for roleplaying, it was the truth. Last game I played we had open voting so this closed private voting made me wonder how we could all work together to get rid of scum. For what it's worth I suspected Da-Shan and Benito of working together against Bebe , check posts 33 and 40.
Lady K Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 By the way I'm not really mad, just roleplaying. I know this is how the game goes.
def Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 For what it's worth I suspected Da-Shan and Benito of working together against Bebe , check posts 33 and 40. Oh, you find someone lobbing an accusation at you suspicious too? You and Bebe have quite the solid scum hunting technique: accuse anyone who is suspicious of you. Here's the thing about role playing: it's fine if you want to do it, but it's not to be confused with actual playing. For scum, it's very useful to appear busy while saying nothing, and role playing is one way to do that. Alan, how do you know Bebe was just being obnoxious? Like, in a way that you wanted to publicly put on record? How do you know? Until you have a solid answer for that, you are the best lynch target.

But from my perspective (being new and all) and the fact I get way to into roleplaying I figured it was an option someone else could do the same. Also if you look at the post previous to where I defended Bebe, Tiffany was really saying she only suspected me because I defended Juan. So I was basically saying 'see I'm defending someone else now' so there kinda thing. I know it sounds petty but it fits my character. Do I have real evidence for or against Bebe or Juan, no I don't. So I'm only going on previous posts like everyone else. But hey, vote how you want it's how the game is played.
TrumpetKing Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Defending other people makes you scummy near the beginning unless you have information, which this early means you've either gotten a role claim, or are scum with them. I see no other reason as to why you would even consider defending somebody, and the incredibly unlikeliness that somebody would even attempt to make a claim this early makes me feel you are more likely to be scum.

Except for one vital thing you are forgetting; I'm new and this is only my second game played.... ever! The first one being school, so how should I know that defending someone early on make me look scummy and the target for a day one lynching?
def Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 You wouldn't know, which makes it a scummy mistake. If you had said "I think she was just being obnoxious," it wouldn't have pinged my scumdar, but you concretely said it. It's a scummy slip. We'll see if it was a townie slip up or not. Now, is anybody else here going to give their two cents?

TrumpetKing Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Using this as your first game is no excuse. You were good enough to get here. What Shan is saying is that the fact that you're new means that it's a very easy mistake to make as a new player, which makes it even more scummy.
def Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Sometimes townies do/say the wrong thing and it hurts the town. But sometimes scum slip up and speak with a certainty only scum can have. I can't say for sure you're scum, I won't know until you're dead. But your speaking is the most suspicious. Who else do you suggest we vote for? And that is something everybody should be saying. When the town is quiet, the scum are happy.
