Jan_sh Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Hello all My name is Jan, I'm 41 and have gotten back into Lego via our niece who are currently into Friends big time. And like the nice uncle I am, we have bought and built several sets together by now. (Although I am also being a little selfish in encouraging this - building with Lego is much more fun that playing with dolls and what have you ) That kind of reawakened my interest in Lego and I have been building for myself since the start of 2014. Although compared to the dedication and effort I see on sites such as this, I think I must be described as very much a casual AFOL. I enjoy building stuff and making it up as I go along and as a fantasy fan, I decided that Castle themed stuff is probably my "thing" So I decided to try my hand at something and purchased a few bricks on Bricklink and our local Pab wall. (Which have had light bley 1x4 & 1x3 bricks this spring.) I have also bought & built the Kingdoms Joust set - but must admit that I found it a bit boring to just follow instructions - making it up myself is more to my liking. (Which is probably a good thing for my wallet - MAN some of those sets are not exactly cheap.) I have lurked here for some time, but as I have now build my very first beginner castle, I thought it was time to join the community. Quote
emilstorm Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Velkommen til Jan :) And congratulations on reuniting with Lego! I have had a lot of shorter periods away from lego, and it is like you love it even more when you return:) Happy building, dont forget to enjoy the summer and please post some pictures of your creations:) Quote
Chocolatecake Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Welcome to Eurobricks. MOC'ing isn't cheaper than buying sets I have some large projects on mm-paper waiting to be build with all those bricks I don't own (yet) But welcome yet again from a fellow dane Quote
Jan_sh Posted June 5, 2014 Author Posted June 5, 2014 Tak :-) Yeah, I know that Moc'ing is not cheaper per se - but not being (much) into sets removes the urge to buy the steady stream of new stuff being released. Quote
Milan Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Just make sure you find good deals at Bricklink, pieces can get really cheap if you search enough. Quote
