Nico van Duin Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 (edited) One of my 8878 batteries (which I have for nearly two years now) performs very bad, it seems like the overload protection kicks in almost imediately in situations where my other one just works perfectly. Does anybody had this problem before or knows what it could be? Because a video says more than thousand words: http://youtu.be/niEDLc0vPN8 Edited May 31, 2014 by Nico van Duin Quote
rm8 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Nico, I have the same issue with one of my LiPo's comparing to other with the same age. It not a very big problem, cause it only happens on heavy load: buggy motor with servo/stalled M motor while drifiting donuts. . Level of charging doesnot play a role. I will be glad if some could help to solve it. Quote
Nico van Duin Posted May 31, 2014 Author Posted May 31, 2014 Yeah, but this problem appeard suddenly, a week ago it worked just as fine as my new one. And I think the load wasn't that high since the floor was very smooth and the tires are wrapped with tape to make them slippery :) Quote

NXT45 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 To much friction with the wheels? Kladovec Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) I had similar problem with normal battery box a week ago. I changed batteries several times and it always slow down, but when I changed battery box it runs normal. In my opinion there is only one solution. Overpass the protections. This one helps me. But don´t know how to overpass LIPO battery box, you should ask Mr. Google. Edited June 2, 2014 by Kladovec Quote
rm8 Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 since we touched battry blocks here, I can say that i also have one big battrey box for AAA batteries with visible poor performance comparing to other BBs. This BB was bad from new opened set. Quote
Nico van Duin Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 Thanks for the replies everyone. To much friction with the wheels? Don't think so, while building the car, everything was spinning smoothly. I had similar problem with normal battery box a week ago. I changed batteries several times and it always slow down, but when I changed battery box it runs normal. In my opinion there is only one solution. Overpass the protections. This one helps me. But don´t know how to overpass LIPO battery box, you should ask Mr. Google. I also think the protection inside the battery is the problem, (I think it's damaged somehow, and kicks in way to early) but since I don't know how to open it without damaging, I'm probably going to contact the lego customer sevice, to see what they can do for me.
