Personally I don't like a light grey vehicle with dark bluish grey tracks and black front tires, but maybe I'll have to wait and see the final version of the model and change my opinion...

if you look at the pictures at the top of this page, the tracks are usually a Metalic grey color so the grey might actually look more realistic.

more progress, I shortened the distance between road wheels and the front is now suspended and can be steered.

Hmm, I have to make really lots of scheduled LEGO stuff (10 videos, 2 mocs, book i am working on). I guess middle August in as early as I can start it :(

My plan (before) was that the vehicle would be 1:13, but I guess it is close enough to your desired scale of 1:15.

Maybe you can find another smaller moc to keep your hunger for building for a month or two, and maybe I can better arrange my schedule so we can build at the same time?

Have you gotten around to starting on it ?

Yes, I have basic chassis since our last communication here, but I got a new apartment I had to move, so it is still a chassis. In a few days I am starting with MT contest. But this crane will be done.

nice, i'm hopping to try and finish it before the end of next week, possibly with a 21 cm gun with my recoiling breech design.

more progress, all thats left to add for the chassis is the winch assembly. Then I can add the body.
