Star Trek DS9 Customs

So, as you may have guessed, I'm a big DS9 fan. The kind people write psychology papers on. Suffice to say, it's my favourite Star Trek series, and it has influenced me greatly in life. So what better way to show my fondness for the show by making some Lego minifigs of (most) of the main crew? The starfleet uniforms I acquired off the internet, so credit goes to those who made these designs in the first place.

Major Kira Nerys (I guess you could say Colonel as well, but I based all my figures on their Season 6 appearances)

Elim Garak. Plain, simple, Garak, the tailor...

Dr Julian Bashir (still working on his head, any suggestions would be great!)

Hard to see, I spent an hour pencilling Dax's spots on.

Quark. An extreme work in progress in regards to the lobes, hence no other Ferengi's in my post. Does anybody know if the lobes detach of the Kreo one? And if they do, do they attach to a minifigure?

I think that the Vic Fontaine fig looks the most like the show. The hair on the Odo fig is perfect. Nice job! I'll be looking forward to seeing how Quark's lobes turn out.

Worf, I've always had a facsination towards Klingons. You should give him a Bat'Leth, you can find them in the Kre-O sets

benjwgarner - Thank you! I'm thinking either getting the afore mentioned lobes from the Kero fig or, the man bat ears. Cut and file them down till I get two oval shapes, smooth the head down, then find some paint that matches the head.

awhile back (I've got a shot somewhere of my TNG Worf with one). I've also got a smashed up Pirate cutlass and my plan is to trim the end of, about half way, and cut the handle a bit to make a Mek'leth. I'm looking at making Martog as well, so I may have more Klingon's soon!

Nice, I've 2 Kre-O ones from the line. Good luck finding Quark, those figs are incredibly rare, I'm (still) trying to get my hands on Nero and the Gorn

Thanks Rinzler, and sorry for the late reply! I've been looking infrequently on eBay to see if anyone has spare minimate parts, particularly weapons, for any Cardassians, Klingons, Romulans etc. So far, I've made:

Half way through making Dukat, the female changeling, and Winn, and I'm looking at perhaps making Keiko, Eddington, and, though I currently don't have the parts, the crew from Far Beyond The Stars. If Dukat's successful, I'd love to try making Tain and Dumar as well.

Beyond DS9, it's possible I may branch out to TOS and Voyager, but before hand I'd like to expand my TNG stuff, as I've found a great hair piece for Shelby.

Nice, Dr, have you considered making any figs from the original series? For example General Trelane (retired), Koloth, Captain Garth and Khan. And with all our talk of Kre-O figs, it makes me wonder why nobody has made a thread on how to customize them, I want to add to my Star Trek universe - though mainly original series and the reboot

Well, your read my mind! I'm hopefully going to order stickers for TOS soon, though I'm going to have to wait on making an Uhura, as no doubt the Storm head is rather expensive at the moment. Kang, Kor, Koloth, Garth of Izar, Khan and Marla, Trelane (one of the Pirates of the Caribbean torsos methinks), the Gorn captain, Harry Mudd, transporter duplicate Kirk, Dr Daystorm and the M5, and maybe some Kelvans like Rojan are what I've got in mind at the moment. I'd love somehow also to make Lokai and Bele from let that be your last battlefield, and some secondary characters on the Enterprise such as Lt. Kyle or Dr M'Benga. I have seen Minimate customs, though not here, but never Kero.

I'd love to have a crack at the Guardian Of Forever as well, minifig scale.

WOAH! (Announcer Voice) And a wave of awesomeness comes from the doctor!

I didn't expect that amount of characters Doc, I'm impressed. When I had my Lego Star Trek customs, I was and still am scarce of POTC figs aside from Jack Sparrow, so I used a Lone Ranger Cavalry Officer torso. There is a thread located on Eurobricks somewhere with a lot of OS decals, including Klingons, Andorians and the Gorn, I'll post a link when I find it

Thanks! I've been customizing the 90s Star Trek action figures for years, so some "cough a lot" of the ideas are from them figs, but next to DS9 TOS is my favourite, so expect a lot of love for them! Who else have you made, may I ask? Thanks for the links, very much appreciated.

I'd contact the MOD around here, LuxorV, and ask. He'll give you some good advice.

As a general EB rule, clone/other brands stay in community. The only exception up to now is the Bootleg SHs, as they involve comparing with actual LEGO customs.

And I'm currently working on Trelane and the Salt Vampire, that is the furthest I've gotten with my low number of Kre-O parts. I'm looking into purchasing Sulu, Nero, Gorn (Abrams Version) and General Chang from Ebay

Sounds good! Good ideas, the Salt Vampire's an interesting one, may I ask how you plan to achieve it's vampiric good looks? Via the decals?

The TOS stuff should be on it's way, I also got some Enterprise stickers, so more Trek stuff is being made. Stay tuned!

Doc: For the Salt Vampire, I used the decals from one of the links I gave you. I'm still looking for a hairpiece that fits the character's image, do you have any ideas? I'm looking forward to seeing the Enterprise stuff, please tell me Porthos will be there, damn I love that dog. Yesterday, I took some inspiration from you and built the Guardian of Forever. If I can get pictures up I will but I wouldn't count on it. Be sure to look for the Kre-O Decals thread in Community to check out some of my work.

I'm "trying" to take photos now, so soon will either be late late tonight or tomorrow more likely. Either way, a PM will be sent immediately afterward. No Uhura, I've got the body, legs, and hair done, but I haven't got a Storm head or the money to get one, and more will be up in the next few weeks, but a lot (i.e. all the main crew plus a few others...) will be up.

EDIT: Photos have been taken, just need to retake a few things here and there. Tomorrow is the likely time now, so keep an eye out.
