Has anyone noticed the similiarity of the new Castle line and the Spellbreaker 4D movie at Legoland Billund?

They both have undead armies, evil wizards and lightning staffs...

Yes. I too saw Spellcaster 4D while in Legoland California a few months ago. It came around a long while before the release of the new castle line, but I imagine TLG had been planning it for a very long time.

And I don't see why these movie companies fail to name these Imax thingies correctly. Everything in the universe has four dimensions otherwise you'd only be able to see it for an infinitely small fraction of a second before it would exit our linear time line. If anything at all the movie would be 5D......

i saw spellcaster last spring... so if this movie was created as an added push for the 2007 line, LEGO has been planning this line for awhile. especially if you take into consideration that the movie itself took months (years ???) to make.

because of this, i doubt that the two are connected... but it is possible.

Maybe Castle is a sequel on Spellbreaker? It could at least be based on it.

LEGO does not spend years and a big lot of money on a movie, if it was not to sell - LEGO.

The movie was shown first time, at the opening of Legoland, Billund LAST year. (think I've seen it about 20 times - just love the catle *wub* )

Second, LEGO plans release of new sets 2 or 3 years before they hit the shops.

They have to make up the "story/theme", find out what it must contain, design new bricks, new mini-figs, make testmoulds etc. etc. Then box-designs, PR, distribution-plans and I could go on. They even send out test sets to test-builders and evaluate the sets, before they send test-sets to ex. Toys'R'us and other very big detailers to hear their opinion, and again they might have to change things ex. box-designs, colours - you name it.

Then all the bricks have to be casted, packed and brought to the stores.

I guarantee, the sets have been long on the way, when they hit the shops.

Definately. In addition, I would not be surprised if Castle is a long-lasting theme (like KK was). This is all part of Lego's marketing strategy - tying in films, themes, and other merchandise.
